Solid, and props to Manny. This only deepens the mystery of Manny, however. He's a bright guy, he's disciplined, has many physical talents. Apparently, he either likes school, or is good at it, and it's not like he's leaving to lock in a good position. What happened to him?

So, suppose he stays, and Michigan doesn't do a lot better. Will his stock really go up much? Probably not. Suppose he gets hurt. As you can see, he's a smart guy. Sometimes when you're on the rope swing you jump a little early, because jumping late can kill you.

not that everyone here didn't already know that. i wish peedi had redshirted and we could have one more year with these two. i really think they both seem like good kids, even though many here think manny had attitude issues.

no matter how far manny and peedi make it in their professional basketball endeavors, i am sure that they will represent the university with class.

sometimes you worry about alums* shooting their own legs in a nightclub, i have no such worries about these two.

* not correct wording in manny's case, i know.

I went to UofM from 93-97, but never graduated due to personal issues. I had around 80 credits and always joke with my dad that I got my associates from UofM. At any rate, I would never consider myself an alum.

This makes me even more sad that Manny didn't stay in school. Manny has proven that he definitely is not a "dumb jock," and he wouldn't have had any problems getting his degree. I hope he makes enough money playing ball to come back and get that degree someday.

Good to see athletes that excel on and off the field (I know, cliche). You kind of wish Manny stuck around just to finish his degree, but maybe he'll come back in the summers and complete it, if for no other reason than pride.

On a side note, check out the Men's gymnastics and swim teams - talk about a murderer's row of majors (mathematics, various engineering disciplines, business, etc). I hate those NCAA ads, but these guys are certainly going to go pro in something other than their sport, and it is nice to see that they are keeping their options pretty open.
