ED:BiSB - From the article:

He told the folks at rivals that he was planning on visiting Florida, Florida State and USC. His top four schools are Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State. When asked if he had a leader, McDowell said, ”It’s Michigan, probably, that’s home."

2nd ED - I've fixed the glitch. Move along.

Mmmmm, point of parlimentary procedure, sir, your complaint concerning complaints is invalid unless seconded from the floor, and supported by a quorum of MPs no less than 2/3's in number, and not containing any Welshmen (save those who fought under Chelmsford East of Suez, of course). Mmm, yes, bully.

I think they could take sesame seeds off the market and I wouldn't even care. I can't imagine 5 years from now, saying, "Damn, remember sesame seeds?

'Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a... bun.' How's a sesame seed stick to a bun? That's fuckin' magical! There's got to be some sesame seed glue out there! Either that, or they're adhesive on one side. "Take the sesame seed out, remove the backing, place it on the bun. Now your bun will look spectacular."

What does a sesame seed grow into? I don't know, we never gave them a chance! What the fuck is a sesame? It's a street...it's a way to open shit!

But if we can pick up McDowell and Hand this will be a return to the dominant D-lines of Michigan past. I'm so excited about the incoming class and the class on 2014.

I think you are dreaming. With a few exceptions (like the national championship year and maybe whatever year{s} had Woodley and Branch) this has been a relatively weak position area for many years. You might have to go back to Bo's first few teams.

Notice I said *relatively* weak. Even our worst D-lines have probably been around average. But, it hasn't been a strong area like QB/WR.

Anyway, I'm excited about the class, too.

It does seem like the D-line has lacked the ability to pressure QBs for several years now.  The idea of one or two elite DE's on the line is extremely exciting.  But I do think Frank Clark, Taco Charlton, etc.. are a big step in the right direction.

Something interesting came across on Rivals yesterday (HERE) that was rather a neat fact. Malik McDowell is not only in rare company in terms of his rankings as a defensive end recruit, but among Michigan-based talent. Since 2002, there have been 1,300 players who made the Rivals 100 list, but only 30 (McDowell included) of them have been from Michigan. Of those 30, 14 of them have committed to, are currently playing at, or have played at Michigan.

McDowell - if he committed - would make that 15 of 30.  Even now, however, it's really an awesome percentage when it comes to getting elite talent in your home state.

Imagine if we hadn't had to deal with the last couple of years of Carr and RR's pretty average recruiting years when players like RoJo & Nick Perry were being recruited.

I think the % of top Mich players going to U-M will increase greatly going forward.

Also, Malik's build reminds me of Alan Branch, yes please, more of that would be greatly desired.

Both probably project to 5-tech/SDE. But Hand is a 5-Tech who could also play WDE, and McDowell is a 5-tech who could move inside to play 3-tech. Ace discussed it quite a bit here: http://mgoblog.com/content/recruitin-mailbag-saving-spots-d-line-numbers-second-14-quarterback.

Besides, as Ace pointed out, MIchigan rotates D-linemen so often that both would get plenty of snaps.
