And the "just win, don't care how they look" crowd is appeased.

Read that press release and tell me this was 100% from Michigan's end. Florida and Michigan, two Nike schools, two alternate uniforms for the first game of the season, with plenty of marketing-speak spinning a constructed narrative behind a freaking uniform. Nike gets what it wants with contracts this big; the players and the programs just play mannequin duty at tradition's expense.

This whole game is one big "Screw You" to tradition. Arlington is 1,000 miles from Gainesville and 1,200 miles from Ann Arbor. It's in an NFL stadium.

I'm glad they're having fun with it. I'm more excited because I think this is the final domino falling in the Dave Brandon line of bad decisions. We're in good hands now.

Within 15 minutes of this being posted, a link went up on UM twitter about how to buy these things.

Now, I'm under no illusions that no matter what types of jerseys/shoes were selected for this game, they would have been sold immediately as "product" --- but going with something so blatantly Uniformz, that doesn't even look like a Michigan uniform, is even more "Two Tickets with Two Cokes" than usual.

it really isn't that big of a deal man.  Almost every team in the country has alternate uniforms. We don't need them, agree.  But Jumpman was going to have strings attached.  This is one of them.  These are not nearly as bad as nearly every single alternate that Adidas rolled out.  It's one game.  I guarantee you that Jumpman/Nike has been a huge positive in recruiting.  This is not that big of a price to pay.

The best part is that the grumpy "traditionalists" can't even complain about the sleeve piping being two millimeters too large or too small because there is none. Haha. Good job, Nike.

This fan base loves the all-maize basketball uniform and the maize hockey jerseys.  All maize (or yellow) uniforms are not ugly to everybody.  It's personal preference and you belong to a fan base that has almost universally accepted and embraced the all-maize look in every other sport for decades.

The outrage here is about people hating change and it was hilariously predictable.

If these are "objectively" bad, then you and everyone else complaining here think the maize basketball uniform is bad, right?

Take your time.  It's a thinker.

They aren't hideous like these... but the old school whites look WAY better.

These are the worst alternates yet. Worse than anything Adidas put us in.

West Virginia Wolverines. Michigan Mountaineers.

But it won't matter if they win the damn game.

Silver lining is they released the info about this a week ahead of time.  Way better digesting this a few days early as opposed to being in utter shock for the entire first half because they revelaed them at the last second running out on to the field.

MDen just posted theirs. $135 for the Limited and $80 for the Legend.

Limited is stitched-on numbers. Order a size up if you're gonna buy it.

I think the jerseys are great BUT they would be a great UNIFORM if we wore Blue pants instead. Maybe even white.

upvote. Blue pants, definitely, Blue pants.

Just don't do this at home, Jim.

Really, we should seek chances to wear our home unis on the road, like at MSU and OSU. Anyone down for colors vs colors in those games?
