Maize uniforms (photo)
Here they are and they don't look as bad as I thought originally. https://twitter.com/aaronmcmann/status/902228326676406272

Stay Classy, unlike these uniforms.

You don't have to wear a yellow jersey in a game to sell yellow jerseys. Those who like them will buy them for the maize out anyway.

Needs a blue belt to break it up.

The picture that Michigan Football posted on FB looks a bit different with blue letters looking much more prominent than on WD's posting where they look almost black.

The good news is that these will be represented in the big house for years and years to come!

No -- the good news is that everyone who has been pining for the maize pants should be at least half satisfied.
For the record, I'll pass on the all-maize look, but I think we'll survive. At least no one has #$%^ed with the helmet.

The players may be reading this blog to get amped up for Saturday's game. Let's be nice.
August 28th, 2017 at 2:13 PM ^
I think they can take it when we say these uniforms are hideous; they may, nay probably agree.

The party line in '11 when they (whoever 'they' were) unleashed the bumblebee disaster was that the kids were pumped up. That seemed difficult to believe. IIRC, the vast majority people on this site - including the HEY THESE ARENT THAT BAD GET WITH IT OLD MAN-crowd were vocal in agreement that those were a bad look.
I hate these more than I can describe. A hate that makes me consider actually not watching the game. Fuh-cking-serious. But most of the kids on our roster probably played in a uni-color uniform at some point in high school. They'll probably like these.
Just stop fucking with our uniform. Damn.

And when you read John U. Bacon's account of that fiasco, we learn that the players didn't like them.
Heck, for (IIRC) the PSU uniform release, they had that video of the unveiling, and most of the players were just kind of sitting there golf-clapping with a weird look on their face. These kids don't care as much as we think, and it doesn't resonate as deeply as Nike wants. All that matters is that they sell ugly jerseys and shoes sewn by third-world children in dirty sweatshops for maximum profit.

"Flooded Blue" is an unfortunate name for the color of the Florida uniforms during a game in Texas this week.
August 28th, 2017 at 2:29 PM ^
indeed. maybe should've come up with an alternate name for that...

This is the same company that gets blind buyers like certain MGoPosters to buy into the idea that some stupid pattern with no immediately recognizable links to the Ann Arbor campus has a distinct narrative connection to the history and tradition of the University of Michigan. Most people don't know, and do not care. It's just a dope jersey, fam. Order a size bigger when you put it in your MDen cart, don't pay attention to the multi-billion dollar corporation in the corner.

I thought the pattern was three Ypsi dick water towers

Not sure the history of complaining but I do know I've disagreed with much of what Bando has been about but right here I'm in 100% agreement.

Not too bad.
Warde has made it clear that he has no intention of scheduling anymore neutral-site games. If there's a time to try these out, might as well get it out of their system during this game.
Meanwhile, at a Toys-R-Us in Jersey, a single tear runs down Dave Brandon's cheek.
August 28th, 2017 at 5:37 PM ^
Because not playing neutral site games would somehow prevent Harbaugh from using alternate uniforms in the future...
If Harbaugh wants his team to wear alternates, Michigan will do so.

All alternates are bad, but these are just truly atrocious. Among the worst I've ever seen. The bumblebees were better.

They both sucked but at least we still looked like Michigan (I guess). Now we look like another goddamned team and almost seem like we're copying another program(s). Eff this.
