Rough week for Michigan Athletics. However, there were some nice positives. We'll start with those.

#1 Men's Swimming & Diving (6-0, 3-0 B1G) easily mowed down #18 Penn State on the road, 212.5-140.5

It was a triangle meet that also featured Virginia, who Michigan smacked around 247-102 for their second victory. Mike Bottom is now 55-3-1 at Michigan. No, that is not a typo.

#6 Women's Swimming & Diving (5-2, 3-0 B1G) took on #20 Penn State and Virginia at University Park in a triangle meet as well since Bottom coaches both Men's and Women's programs.

Michigan beat Penn State in a tight one, 178-175. But they lost to unranked Virginia, 184.5-164.5

Michigan Volleyball (11-13, 6-8 B1G) had a good weekend play-wise. They took #4 Wisconsin to set 5 but could not pull off the upset on Friday. It was like a boxing fight. Michigan took a set, UW took a set and so on. Michigan NEEDED to win that one. They have an extremely tough remaining schedule and they need to beat teams they aren't supposed to beat. NCAA Tournament hopes look very bleak with that loss. However, on Saturday, Michigan took down Minnesota at Cliff Keen in straight sets. This makes their loss to Minnesota earlier in the season look very strange.

Michigan Men's Soccer (6-9-3) has been covered in the thread below this one by skurnie. Their season has ended.

#25 Michigan Women's Soccer (12-5-3) awaits their NCAA Tournament opponent. Covered them last week. They were sent home early in the B1G Tournament First Round with a 1-0 loss to 6-seed Minnesota. The second straight year Michigan has been sent home after one game in the tournament. The NCAA Tournament is a 64-team dance. Michigan will get in, no doubt about it.

#12 Michigan Field Hockey (13-7) most likely had their season ended on Friday with their 2-1 OT loss to Northwestern in the B1G Tournament Semifinals. Especially with Northwestern upsetting #2 ranked Maryland just now to receive the B1G's auto-bid. There are only 16 teams in the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament. We'll find out during the week if their season is over officially or not. It's not looking good since Maryland and Penn State will get at-large bids.

Rough week. Hopefully the pain is over with. Here's what's going on next week in Michigan Athletics. Football is obviously off with a bye.

The rankings below are the current rankings. They will change. NCAA Tournament info will be added once it's announced.

About tomorrow's game, do you think there will be a decent stream of it online? If I have to I'll sign up for BTN Plus, then cancel post-game, but a regular stream would be much easier.
