M Hockey to play Cornell at MSG

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on June 8th, 2012 at 3:14 PM

Breaking news. Friend of mine who teaches at Ithaca College is hearing rumblings that we're playing Cornell in Hockey this fall at Madison Square Garden in November and now Moe's Sports Shops facebook page is leaking a copy of a poster that Cornell designed for the event. http://www.facebook.com/#!/MoeSportShop

That wouldn't suck!!! Maybe we can get Hagelin to hook us up with tix!

Now if we could just get UConn to switch that football game to Giants Stadium (or whatever their new field is called) we'd have all three major Michigan sports teams visiting the Big Apple in the course of one year.

EDIT: Now Michigan Hockey Net reporting it.

(h/t Michael Spath and Bob Miller at The Wolverine who posted this earlier this morning)

This has been long rumored and they've pretty much done everything save officially announce it.

This has been expected for a few months now. Just waiting for confirmation. As a Cornell undergrad alum, I have been to all three of their previous games at MSG vs. BU. Geat atmosphere, great event, great location. I'm sort of torn on this year's game though.

Isn't this very old news? I feel like I first heard about this months and months ago. I mean...I've been planning to go to this game for a while now.

....Maybe I have ESPN!

there should be plenty of students & alums that live in the area or will be home for thanksgiving to boost attendance... With the OSU game @ noon, should be time to watch the football game then scoot over to MSG, although I doubt there will be a sober Michigan fan in the house.   With the possibility of bball at MSG the same week (preseason nit semifinals and finals, if they make it) plus bball again in december, making for a great year for us NY based alums.

anyone know if tickets will be sold through MSG or through the school?
