M fans in Chicago

Long-time reader, first time poster...

If anyone is driving from Chicago to South Bend for the game on Saturday, I'm looking for a ride. My buddy has an extra ticket, but he's coming from Michigan. I'll gladly chip in for gas, buy you beer, lunch if the opportunity arises. I'm a U-M grad ('02), I'm friendly, I don't smell - help me out.

I know this doesn't help you out this week, but if there are Chicago-area Michigan fans who travel back for home games and are interested in carpooling back to Ann Arbor for future games and splitting gas, etc, let me know.

With all of the M fans/alumni in the Chicago area, it's silly to have 2-3 people driving seperately when we can combine cars and save some money in the process.

As far as this weekend, worst case, you can take the South Shore train to the South Bend airport and either have your friend pick you up there, or I think they offer a cheap shuttle service to campus from the airport.

There is a shuttle that will drop you off right at the stadium.  It is something like $8 for a roundtrip shuttle.

Also fyi, due to some Celtic Fest that is going on in Chicago this weekend the South Shore has a 100% no alcohol policy this weekend.  You can't even bring on a case of beer to drink at a tailgate...

There is a bus from Victory Liquours that you can take if you really want to do it up.  Leaves at 8am, $100, drinks on the way down and back and a tailgate there...Victory Liquors is a ND bar so you would probably have to put up with a bunch of drunk Irish fans

Our car is currently full with 2 on the waitlist already....
