M Baseball
I miss the series previews of Wolverine baseball we enjoyed last spring.
Now that hockey is almost finished (with grabbing a national title) and spring football is about half done, we're going to enter the long, dry season before football starts gearing up again.
Are there any folks with UM baseball knowledge who can (and will) enlighten us with previews, updates or analysis now that the Big Ten season is in full swing?
We are getting M softball updates -- a great thing -- but it seems like baseball would generate at least as much interest.
I think I know why. After the nonconference schedule, they're now 7-20. Yeesh.
Take it up with this guy. Where have you gone, formerlyanonymous?
Yea looks like he hasn't been on in over 6 weeks. Kinda miss his input.
I would also like updates on U of M's Quiddich and Squirrel Catching teams, please.
But it is an important sport at MIchigan, a sport with history.
I don't live near Ann Arbor but I really enjoyed last year's coverage.
I can find game results -- and yes, this year's haven't been inspiring -- but last year MGoBlog had great forum posts and diaries that previewed series and recapped games, much better coverage than the university's official baseball page or the lame, minimal coverage in the mainstream media.
It wasn't meant to be "snarky." I would also like updates on baseball. Last years posts were great, and had a lot of time and thought put into them. But there was all of that talk about Quiddich a while back, I'm sincerely curious how we are doing/did.
the boys will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. We are at Purdue. We played them yesterday and lost 8-0.
Lead-off hitter Patrick Biondi went 3 for 5. Alex Lakatos and Garrett Stephens each had a hit.. Purdue pitchers struck out 14 M batters while only walking 2. That is great pitching and not so good hitting.
formerlyanonymous was usually our baseball expert. He also used to contribute a great deal to beer conversations. I've noticed that he's been absent on the board for a while. Does anyone know where he went?
And appreciate his baseball contributions last year.
Hopefully another baseball fan can help out.
is important. Good to know he has his prioities.
those bbcor bats are nice and i personally think they hit better than the BESR ones. I got to try out 2 cheaper ones yesturday and the ball flies off from them but not as fast. Ive never seen one break though that was impressive
