Lunch with Bill Martin

I'm having lunch with Bill Martin tomorrow [along with surely a large group of other students] and I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas for a good question to ask him.

Ask him what he thinks can be done (not when or how) to improve our Basketball venue.  Can Crisler be remodeled or would it better to build a new arena all together and would Michigan ever consider a sponser like Ohio State did with the Schottenstein Center and Value City Arena.

Ask him exactly what will be done by next football season on the big house construction? Will wee see the full added noise benefit by next season begins? They should schedule for that if not

His opinion on expanding the conference to 12 teams to incorporate a championship game.  Would he support a round robin schedule like the pac10, where we would eliminate one of these MAC or worse level games?

His opinion on having a game during thanksgiving break next year against ohio state.

Is the rumor about trying to get delaware on the 2009 schedule true?

Chicken or fish?

Does he have any leads on the 2009 schedule?  Like 3-4 teams they have contemplated contacting.

His thoughts of scheduling a BCS level opponent for a home and home.

What is he most proud of in his time as AD?  The hires?  The budget surplus?  The stadiums?

Does he know what hockey is?

His opinion about a bowl game in the midwest, like perhaps soldier field or lambeau.

His choice in yachts.

How long does he see himself as Michigan's AD? (not that i see it being soon, just interesting question)

Which non-revenue sport does he attend the most often?

Who won the battle for the Little Brown Jug in 1999?

If he could add a sport to Michigan athletics, what would it be?

Does he ever stand up during Michigan football games?

Ask him who we are playing in OOC games next year.

Ask him if he prefers the 4-3 or the 3-3-5 stack.

In all reality though, he isn't going to answer any questions worth answering.

This could be his deposition for the Les Miles fiasco. Per Brian's description, you should bellow "did you order the mizzen-mast furled?!" over and over again until he finally cracks.

Martin said "We're not going to have a quarterback Saturday, geez" and explained that it doesn't make financial sense from UM's standpoint to schedule tougher OOC games because a place like Texas or USC would want a home and home and Michigan wants one and dones.  Also said a practice facility is in the works, skimpy on details on that.  Against a playoff.  Lots of fluff.
