I've said it for 2.5 years now. Stallworth is a bum. I rarely say such harsh words when describing a HS athlete but I want nothing to do with him. He was trash at south lake. You watched film on the kid and for 14-15 plays you wouldn't even know he was a D1 prospect. Transfers to king to play some better comp an has a solid, but not stellar season.

He has a low motor, takes tons of plays off and has always had questionable academics. (He attended summer school for 2+ classes three years in a row (his freshman, sophomore, junior years) Not someone I would want regardless. This is just my opinion but I saw plenty of the kid for three seasons and I can't see how this kid could possibly be the best recruit in the state. Not been top 6-8 IMO.

Your both correct. I certainly did take it too far.

To use your words, 'I am not fond of his skill set'. It's not even his skill set that is terrible. The kid is big, you can't really teach that. However, I will say that he is not something I would want to touch even if he was a unanimous 5 star. The school he attended is as shady as they come. Let's just say he hasn't been an upstanding student athlete and many have helped him cover up his flaws as a student athlete.

I have nothing personal against him. It's not a case of sour grapes. I truly would not want this kid at Michigan under any circumstance. To quote the song from Dr. Seuss' The Grinch - I wouldn't touch him with a thirty-nine-and-half-foot pole.

I apologize for the harsh words. We'll leave it at that.

Lmao... The Lansing Stare Journal is worse than the Holt High School Newspaper I wrote for in 10th grade.

I don't think the rankings and ratings are nearly as important as the coaching they get once they arrive on campus. I'm confident this coaching staff is going to get the most out of the current players on the team and the recruits coming in.

but you need to have the talent to work with. Recruit rankings are not perfect but there's an overlap with top teams and team recruiting rankings. Three of the four teams in the cfp have had top 5 recruiting classes recently. I believe Harbaugh will get the best out of his players but most likely he would get more out of someone like Iman Marshall than a 3 star recruit.

John Kelly committed to Tennessee?

We do a great job of covering new offers, even to kids we have a great shot at. I must've missed the news of Kelly committing to the Vols.

if that 4.26 speed is legit I'm not sure why we couldn't find a place for him somewhere...KR or PR

Honestly he is not very impressive either. His speed is legit, but he is a straight line runner. A track kid playing football. Avondale really misused him. Calling D against him was so predictable because he always wanted the edge. He was not very physical despite having the size to do so. He needs to work on his hands as well if he wants to be a special teams kind of guy.

Kid was a great kid though who I believe was just mismanaged. I will say his speed is legit. Maybe not 4.26 legit in pads, but the fastest kid I've seen run in a straight line in the last 5 years fast.

I he ever wants to e an every down kind of back though, even at cincy, he has to become a more physical runner. He runs real high and only looks impressive in the open field. Tell your Dline to play flat on running downs, slant to their strength and he will get strung out. Hope to see he improves and becomes a player at the next level because he was a real nice kid who worked hard.

Shockingly, a crappy newspaper in a crappy city has a poor sports department and favors the local team whose fans could conceivably buy its paper.

Honestly, this wasn't a great year for the state in terms of top-notch college talent, and after Cole/Webber/Malzone/Stallworth it kinda falls off pretty rapidly.  If anything surprised me about this list, it would be Malzone at 8, since every ranking I've seen has him in the top-4 of the state.  But whatever, now when MSU struggles a couple of Michigan trolls can point out MSU can't win with the best players in the state or whatever.

As far as physical talent goes, I can't really argue that Stallworth is the #1 player in the state. If he doesn't have the motor or if he gets in trouble, obviously that changes his long-term future. But he's a big kid who's athletic. Character concerns aside, he's a guy I would want.

a) Maybe no one cares. After all, this is a message board and there are currently 51 comments on this topic. So who really cares about any of those comments? You could post this same response to just about everyone else's comment, too.

b) I'm not tooting my own horn, but I am probably one of the few people on this board who has actually looked at film of nearly every FBS prospect in the state of Michigan. That doesn't mean I'm automatically right, but I'm at least coming from the perspective of someone who has not just watched Mike Weber, Tyriq Thompson, Alex Malzone, Grant Perry, and Joshua Alabi.
