Looks like Oklahoma vs. Florida

As pathetic and shameless as Brent Musburger's gushing over Oklahoma is, I still think I prefer them over Florida. As much as I disliked Stoops even 5 years ago, he's an altar boy compared to Urban Crier IMO.

Two teams I have a sort of general mild dislike for. This makes the game watchable. I'd have preferred Texas, but two teams which are not Ohio State is a vast improvement. Obviously this will be hyped as Tebow vs. Bradford. I think Tebow is one who somewhat deserves the hype, and Bradford is not, and so I probably prefer that Florida wins.

Tebow is the only thing I like about Florida. Other than that I can't stand the Gators. However, as much of a stand-up guy as Tebow seems, I will never forget the image of Jamar Adams body slamming him on national television. Priceless.

defense in action - no way they hold the Tebow-child and Co. to 17 points. May as well give the Gators the title now - last time Stoops won a challenging bowl game was in 2001. Gators will roll the Sooners (although not as bad as USC did a few years ago), Meyer is the best coach in the game right now and has the best player in the game at his disposal.

Am I crazy to think that Florida won't jump Texas? There was a pretty substantial gap in the BCS rankings (especially the computer rankings) and as much as Florida's win increases their value (because they beat #1 Alabama), Oklahoma's win increases Texas' value (because they beat Oklahoma). I might be nuts (and probably am for many reasons), but I have a feeling that it's going to be Oklahoma and Texas because there isn't really anything the human voters can do to change it. The gap between Texas and Florida in the computer poll average is substantial (0.940 to 0.820) as is the gap in the BCS (0.9223 to 0.8851). Florida needs to pull something similar to Alabama's number in either the USA Today (up from 0.9271 to 0.9965) or Harris (up from .9082 to 0.9974) polls if they are going to make it, and I don't see either of those numbers going up that high because to do that it means that would have to jump Oklahoma in both polls, which doesn't seem particularly likely.

Computer rankings do weird stuff. Couple years ago there were two games like Hawaii vs someone and Nevada vs someone else that determined if USC would pass someone for a BCS spot. I think that's right anyway.

I'm not sure that you can say that they got it right since we don't yet know what the match will be with certainty. Like I said in my other post, Florida is going to need some massive improvement in the computer rankings if they are going because they don't have that much room to go up in the Harris or USA Today rankings.

You might think so, but Mack Brown is simply not the whiner that Urban Meyer is. Remember 2006? Florida plays Oklahoma because Meyer and others cry about rematches. Hopefully the projections about the awfulness of Florida's secondary hold true and Meyer gets another bowl loss in a row.

got screwed over. They beat OK head to head, and should have played Mizzou in the B12 Championship game. I don't think either of them will beat Tebow and the Gators. Especially seeing them beat Saban and the Tide w/o Percy. They is too much speed on the Gators.

Maybe I am hearing this wrong, but when people say Florida has so much speed do they mean they have that much more speed than any other team in the country or they utilize their speed better than any team in the country?
