Lloyd Carr expected to be named to CFP Panel
ESPN's Heather Dinich reporting that Lloyd Carr is expected to be named to CFP Selection committee. No official announcement yet but Dinich is the reporter with the most ties inside the CFP.

All part of harbaughs master plan. We are all his puppets.

recruiting tactic turning everybody into puppets i like where you are going with this!

Everybody realizes that CFP Committee members are not to participate when a school they have significant ties to is being discussed or voted on right? Still a prestigious post for a Michigan man is by no means a negative!
January 19th, 2016 at 8:21 PM ^
Good clarification - still a great honor for Carr to be a part of.
January 19th, 2016 at 9:10 PM ^
So, Michigan makes it to the playoffs. Can he say Team C is #2, Team S is #3, and Team A is #4 without discussing Team M?

will do a Jedi Mind Trick on them and the rest of the panel won't realize that Carr was with them the whole time!!!

The. Why would they select somebody that will never be able to participate

Turns out there's more than one team in college football.

Not for me.

AKA the Stanford problem. Both Secretary Rice and Oliver Luck needed to excuse themselves when Stanford was discussed
January 20th, 2016 at 8:29 AM ^
That's no consolation for LSU and Arizona, let's just say they're unlikely to be getting in off the bubble for the next few years.

He seems like a man of integrity.

He's still pissed at Urban for having never been caught cheating and he, Tressel, never saw a rule he didn't like ignoring. I have serious doubts as to whether he would give his successor - yeah I know Fickel played the role for a year - an unbiased judgment.
January 19th, 2016 at 9:39 PM ^
he, Tressel, never saw a rule he didn't like ignoring.
That paints him in a rather unfair light. Try to be at least a little unbiased.
January 20th, 2016 at 9:40 AM ^
Gven that he was busted cheating then proceeded to lie we really don't know the extent of his nefarious deeds. Actually, it paints him in a fairly accurate light. On the flip side, what is with all these apologetic pussies defending our rivals on every post.
What motivates a MGoBlogger to start hacking away at the keyboard in defense of Tressel's character? Fucking bizarre.

This is appalling. To reward the man who wouldn't lift a finger to help Rich and assist in his already difficult transition to Michigan is now being rewarded for his mutinous behavior in Ann Arbor. Every time I think about Carr putting his ego ahead of the program itself and almost single-handilly plunging Michigan into the football abyss with his callous disregard for Rich and the team itself it makes me physically ill. I have little to no doubt that Carr will richly reward his cronies with undeserved invitations to the final four just as he willfully submarined any chance Rich had to succeed in Ann Arbor.
How did I do?

How dare you MGrowOld! Lloyd won a national championship! We should have a parade for him! He's elite (per some UW writers) and should be honored!!!

Get some Bacon, MoonWalker21. Three and Out paints a very poor portrait of Lloyd. Yes I admire much of the body of Carr's work while he was at the helm of Blue, he didn't carry himself well into the sunset, sadly.

I have lost great amounts of respect for Carr because of what you just mentioned. Tis quite a shame really.

You forgot to mention the LIBRULLLL regents.
But otherwise, you about covered everything.

- No mention of John U Bacon.
- No mention of the failure of the University to hire Casteel.
- No politics.

I sense the sarcasm. The fact is, Carr did subvert this program because of his bruised ego. Therfore, fuck him.
January 20th, 2016 at 3:36 PM ^
Fuck that, Carr was one of the best coaches in M history and got us a fuckin natty. His teams were tough as nails and his winning percentage was awesome. Fuck the haters, Carr is awesome. Rodriguez story is shit. Rich Rod still couldn't field a half ass defense to save his life and his offenses never produced Jack Shit against quality opponents. Fuck this, Carr is awesome.

If considered, why would he not be named?
January 19th, 2016 at 8:35 PM ^
A well deserved honor for a good man!!!
January 19th, 2016 at 8:36 PM ^
Coach Carr was very well respected in the college football association. With all the schools in BIG 10 and potentially more coming it is logical there would be some BIG 10 connection and there are not many retired football Coaches more respected or well rounded that Coach Carr. Seems like a great choice.
January 19th, 2016 at 8:50 PM ^
Congrats to LC. Well deserved. The Committee will be well served.
January 19th, 2016 at 8:57 PM ^
Was a great coach now he will be great at choosing the best football teams because great men like him can do almost everything great.
January 19th, 2016 at 9:08 PM ^
lluscious...

Only choice that would have been better for Michigan would have been John Cooper. For obvious reasons.
