Legaux committment today?

Perhaps? The front page of Go Blue Wolverine is kinda hinting at it...

Dileo's profile said he committed.... ? edit: the ? is I've never even heard of this kid before... I'm probably just out of the loop.

ummmm.... RR's last name is Rodriguez, hence, "hispanic head coach". Devin Gardner and Denard Robinson are both black QBs. And, get this, this new commit, is a white kid that can play RB. It's called taking your stereotypical position player/coach, and taking the opposite.

He's more of a slot guy while most of our others at outside wideouts. Remember we're going to be running four wide most of the time so we'll need at least 6-8 deep with solid talent at that position.

then i'd assume we're done at slot and outside WR then. What's left on offense? Maybe 1 RB, 1 QB and some OLine? I am kinda concerned about how many schollies they have left to actually give to defensive players though. I mean, I've always been one that said "wait till the defensive players commit" but if all the scholarships are gone by then... That being said, we are in good position to get a bunch of quality defenders: Bryant, Mathis, Nelson, Christian, ect.

I guess we're going to set a record with commits with the least amount of offers (Kinnard, Williamson, Robinson, Drake all have zero, per Rivals) and Dileo (2, per Rivals). Too bad we can't have 6 WR sets.

Well, the only way I think this commitment makes sense if the coaches know that Gallon isn't going to qualify, thus freeing up a schollie and forcing us to pick up another slotback. I really want to know what the coaches plan to do with all these WR commits; someone is going to be moved to the defensive side of the ball whether they like it or not (I sense decommitments).

I've said for a while that: a) J. Robinson or Williamson will end up on defense. b) I would be surprised if all of our WR commits stick with Michigan. For what it's worth, Rivals thinks that Gallon's qualifying is moving in the right direction but we won't know for sure until August.

Magnus; I’m interested to get your take on if you feel he’ll be fitting in more as a slot receiver or as a running back with scout listing him as a WR/RB, and how you like the pickup based on your write up on “touch the banner,” denoting his lack of competition and elusiveness, and really only holding an offer of note from us. I know you’ve been one toting M. Brown and D. Riley as good RB prospects and with A. White possibly 50/50 between us and MSU and Hopkins already in the fold I can only see this pick-up as another slot and/or special teams player. You 100% confident in the pickup?

He did pick up a couple other offers from Stanford, Virginia, and Northwestern. I think he's a slot receiver/returner. I don't see him being elusive/strong enough to be a full-time running back. But he's good in open space and he has good hands, so I think slot is the best fit for him. I don't think Dileo will ever be a great player, but I don't think he's significantly below the talent level of Martavious Odoms, either. I don't think the coaches can possibly be done with RB after the commitments of Drake and Dileo (both slot/RB types) and Hopkins (pure RB). I think the coaches will definitely continue to pursue a premiere RB type.

I think Gordon will spend a year or two trying to play WR but eventually switch to defense. He does seem pretty intent on playing WR, but I think the writing will be on the wall when he sees how much speed he lacks. I have no idea if he would transfer. I would think that Devin Gardner's presence would help him stay true to his commitment, but if they're on opposite sides of the ball, that connection might not be quite so strong.

It's possible, but I don't think so. A lot of times, these teammates are offered around the same time. Dileo was offered a while ago and Michigan hasn't given Fontenot any attention, as far as I know. Also, I don't get the sense that Fontenot is the type of player Rodriguez wants. I could be wrong, but I don't think he really fits what they're trying to do.

how many WRs will be gone from RR's arrival and the time the '10 class arrives. Manningham, Arrington, Savoy, Babb, Mathews and Clemons. Factor in the extra depth we need (and don't yet have) because of the offense and this class is alright. IF the rest of it fills in with mostly defensive recruits, we'll be alright. the order of their commitment shouldn't be a concern yet.
