Laremy Tunsil update (This is not a joke)

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on January 17th, 2012 at 12:07 AM

I was able to chat with Laremy Tunsil earlier this afternoon. He is currently the ranked 3rd in the country in the 2013 class and Michigan has offered him. Points of interest:

Michigan will be in his top five. What's interesting is that the rest of his five are all SEC schools. We are the only school north of Georgia that he's interested in. I feel like this oddly gives Michigan an advantage.

When asked if he'd like to play for Coach Hoke, his response was simply: HELL YEAH. He then followed by talking about how much he loved the direction the school was going in.

He feels like he has an easier time with the coaches at Michigan. He said they are the best to communicate with and the fact that Michigan has always put out top OLs is extremely attractive to him.

He "can't wait" to take his official visit, which will be as soon as he can possibly take it.

Take it for what it's worth.

if we got Tunsil and Tuley-Tillman, we would genuintely have covered both tackles spots with prospects more highly acclaimed than Elmer.

Best of luck to Elmer, and I am sure he will do just fine, but it is kind of funny to think of him as only being third choice out of that group of prospects.

So exciting to see all these young stud linemen so interested in the program.  Imagine Kalis, Magnuson, Bars and this class playing one year above guys in this 2013 class.  It's like playing NCAA 12, unreal!

I love having Tunsil, despite our great current O line class I don't see a real left tackle in this class.  Someone needs to take over for Lewan when he's gone.

It's a long time until 2013 NSD. I love how he's high on us now, but a lot can happen in a year. I don't feel safe on any recruit until their faxed letter of intent shows up on Hoke's desk.

I am invigorated by all the recent info!  For awhile there, this site didn't have much more than a lot of whining with no real info.  That has completely changed around again!  Ace, continue to get your footing and bring it!  Aqua, geez I don't know what to say, you may be the guru to guru's!  Awesome stuff, and I love your approach.  You've been positive but not over the top, which means your info is credible.  Great job guys!  Btw: Loved the roundtable concept and the panel participants - awesome!
