Lacrosse Drops First-Ever Home Game to #9 Loyola, 15-8

Final score from Oosterbaan: Michigan 8  #9 loyola 15

Michigan could have easily given up after being down 10-2 at one point, but they fought back and fought until the end letting the fans go home encouraged.

This was Michigan's first-ever home game, and their first and only home game at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse this season. Next up Michigan will face conference opponent bellarmine on Saturday, March 17 at 3pm at Michigan Stadium. Lacrosse season ticket holders like me are geeked as hell.

^Michigan's W/L record in the ECAC column is not officially ECAC League games, but games against ECAC conference members. Michigan is an affiliate member in 2012 and will become a full member and eligible for the championship in 2013. Therefore, wins or losses for Michigan and wins and losses to Michigan by other schools will not count in their respective ECAC records.

If you throw out the Mercer game (they are not good), their faceoff stats weren't a whole lot different so far this year.  Compared to some of their games, especially against those teams' top faceoff guys, this was an improvement.  This was probably an attempt to get some ground ball faceoff wins and also to make sure they had their defensive personnel on the field once Loyola got it.  Faceoffs is not a part of the game they are going to be good at this season.

It would be really nice to have Brekan Kohlitz or David Reinhard back on the roster right now.  Help comes next year with Brad Lott.  ESPN has him as the #1 faceoff recruit in the country.  That's another way this team will make a big jump as D1 recruits start filling out the roster.
