Right. Harbaugh expressed that he wanted DeWeaver to remain in the class, but he said that Michigan was going to recruit other quarterbacks, too. That's when DeWeaver really decided to open things up.

No surprise with that selection. Bummer, bc he is one of the best hs QB's I've studied in awhile. Good luck at Stanford.

Opens more doors. It also can be easier to navigate and manage as an athlete with a declared major based upon what several of my Stanford friends have to say. Perhaps with all of the concussions discussions Costello is focused on a non-football career. Good luck to the young man. Next.

This would have bothered me, some, a year ago.  Oddly enough, I don't even have any sweat on my lip when saying "Farewell and good luck".  Having seen enough 5 stars do sooooo little, i can't wait to see what Sir James does with ANY QB smart enought to commit to the Mighty UM...it will be QB U in the near future because JH knows what to do with the tools any decent QB brings into camp.

You know there weren't any schenanigans in this choice.  Maybe in a few years Michigan will be a better football choice but right now Stanford is a more stable program.

With Harbaugh in charge I think we will get there very quickly, but Stanford is a pretty safe choice for any kid who is committed to academics.
