I usually tend to go polar opposites on game day beer.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is a must for me. But I always take advantage of this time of the year and drink Oktoberfest brews for the college football season. Stoudt's Oktoberfest and Avery's Imperial Oktoberfest are my choices for today.

Whenever I buy beer, I try to get something that I haven't had before.

But, for buying a 6 pack for game day, I would probably have to say Blue Moon's Honey Moon Beer.

Depends the weather. Early in the season when its hot out (at least in my area), it's Shiner Bock or St. Arnold's Lawnmower. If it's cool out, I'll go with Sam Adam's Oktoberfest, or some other cheap Oktoberfest. If I'm indoors, it could be any of those three.

I'm trying to drink beer from the opponent's area. So this week, it is Bell's Kalamazoo Stout. It's really good, solid coffee flavor.

At home, I prefer dark, strong beers, but tailgating, light and cold (don't care about the brand as much for light beers, they are all not very good).

that I was in a frat when I say Natty light (or ice) FTW.

If we're talking actual beers I like Fat Tire. Good but you can still drink a decent amount of them without getting too full.

Yea I live in Chicago now and it's available all over the place here. I just graduated in May so I may be getting confused but I thought I had it in Ann Arbor as well. I'm going to the game next week so when I stop at Meijer/Campus Corner I'll look for it.

to drink cheap on gamedays. Wandering into the higher ABVs can be dangerous. Who knows, though. Maybe I'll crack something special later on. Breakfast Stout, Dark Lord, Plead the 5th....I have options.

One of my fondest memories of a Michigan football game was the time that I drove to A2 from DC after college (must have been '93ish). A buddy of mine still in A2 had gotten 4 free tickets from some raffle. We checked out where they were and they were in about the second row in the endzone.

So my buddy got up early, scalped the tickets, and brought back 2 cases of Labatt's Blue and 50 (yes, 50) cheeseburgers. We drank and ate our way through the whole mess, and enjoyed a UM win in the comfort of my buddy's living room.

Hence, I will always have fond memories of Labatt's Blue.

But I wanted something different for today. Kickoff the new season with a new beer, though not meant to replace the Blue. Lately, I've been enjoying different Belgian beers when I'm out, so I went out on a limb and bought a bottle of La Chouffe from the Achouffe Brewery. It did not disappoint.

Can't stand beer. Sorry.

Vokda: Ciroc > Kettle > Grey Goose. Ciroc is the only vodka I can drink straight on the rocks.

Whiskey (Mixed malts): 20+ years > 15 years >> Gentlemans Jack > Crown > Chivas > Black Label > Jack Daniels: Single Barrel.

Tequila: Petron >> 1800. All other Tequillas kinda suck IMHE.

My distaste for beer makes tailgaiting interesting as I have to lug around a 20 lb cooler at all times. Also, I have yet to find a liquor stand at Redskins stadium. Found one at the Wizards/Caps arena though.

I am not a big drinker, (a 6 pack will last a month or 2 for me) so when I drink I drink (what I consider to be the good stuff) Sam Adams. I like Boston Lager, Cherry Wheat, (and if you have never had their cherry wheat I strongly reccommend it to any and all) (it has a hint of a cherry flavor but not sweet like you would think when you think of cherry, it is more like they get the flavor from the pulp of the tree) or which ever seasonal flavor they have. If I had to drink something that was not at least to that level I just won't drink.

Last year it was whatever eased the pain. Hopefully this year I can eactually taste my beer before it goes down the hatch.
