He was thought to have a chance to start, wasn't he?

Pretty surprised about Khoury. I just assumed we wanted as many warm bodies as we could get.
Thanks gentlemen. Michigan Men forever.
You're assuming that it wasn't Khoury's choice. He may be ready to get on with life, especially if he believes that there's no NFL for him.
Maybe he also knows he wouldn't see the field at Michigan, let alone the NFL.
Still surprising since he was #2 on the depth chart at center last year.
in this too. What if they are on pace to graduate and just don't want to go through the rigours of college football? Especially when none of them were locks to start.

This puts us at 24 for the 2013 class correct? Looks like the class could be even bigger than expected since Khoury was unexpected and we've got a long time til signing day.

No, they would have all been gone by the time the 2013 class was here anyway.
No impact on the 2013 class. Their scholorships would have been up after the 2012-13 year anyway.
Duh.. My bad.

Congrats to them all for graduating. It's understandable that someone not expecting to play much would want to leave school upon getting a degree rather than to stick around to go through practices and everything. Having said that, losing all of these guys is unfortunate and losing Khoury is terrifying.

on our recruiting class numbers this year?
No. All three were going to be seniors, so there's no additional scholarships for the class fo 2013 as those departures were already anticipated. However, this hopefully means more walk-ons can have scholarships this year.

Really, really surprised by Khoury. Wow, that's a big hit on depth. Hope Miller can win that center spot so Barnum can slide over to gaurd.
I'm hoping for Barnum to stay at center and for either Kalis or Chris Bryant to step up at guard.
Doesn't really matter does it as long as someone steps up? The best 5 will be out there either way.
Everyone still happy Kozan passed on us? Good god our center depth is frightening...
Kozan would have been good for depth in the future, this year not so much, he's still 17 years old, I find hard to believe that he would've played, specially with players like Kalis in his class who is way more college ready
He is young your right, but Kozan would have a better shot of playing center this year than Kalis...
Why? Kozan didn't play center in high school, either. The only difference is that Kozan was practicing snapping since his senior season ended, and Kalis hasn't (that I know of). Neither guy is a center "by trade" and Kalis is the better prospect, regardless.
We have more options at guard than center. If Miller wins the center job and keeps Barnum at guard, then we literally have ZERO backups at center except Elliott Mealer, who used to snap once in a while in practice when Rodriguez was here. With Khoury's departure, it's a near certainty that Barnum wins the center job.
Now it's just a battle between Mealer/Bryant/freshmen to start at left guard.
Magnus you are correct if you assume walkons play no role on the team. Given Jordan Kovacs, I wouldn't make that assumption myself.
"Now it's just a battle between Mealer/Bryant/freshmen to start at left guard." I would therefore insert /walkon to that statement.
I don't know of any walk-ons that are going to push for playing time at guard. Tackle, maybe.
Ok. Fair enough. Given that opinion though, you have a walkon at tackle and move Schofield to guard. See what I just did there? Then you have whichever guard that was replaced move to center. Yeah, it's far from ideal, but it's definitely workable.
Like I said, the battle is between Mealer/Bryant/freshmen for the guard position. Unless you want to add a bunch of hypotheticals.
I'm going under the impression that Miller is a pure center and won't be as great a back-up at guard. So if Miller wins his natural position, then we have more utility out of the starters and more flexibility with replacements. The oppoite is having Miller sitting on the bench only playing one position and not contributing as much. If Miller goes down, Barnum slides over from guard, and then can have another guard replace him. If we lose two centers then we're fucked either way.
and got hurt, Barnum would move back to center. No?
Yes...but that also means both your centers would be on the field to start with, which increases both their chances of getting hurt. And since Barnum's injury history suggests that he WILL get hurt, then that's a pretty big risk.
You know Magnus....I really wanted today to be a happy day. Then you had to come in here with your stupid facts, and logic and destroy any attempts I had a saying "We'll be fine"
Some of the players may be seeing the end of their football careers and have decided to move on with their M degrees.
Whatever way it was, good luck to you all and make us proud.
Depth wise, yes it hurts us at center to lose Khoury. However, I think if Barnum can play center, we can find a guard out of Mealer, Bryant, Kalis, or even Bars.
We'll be fine at guard. I'm not worried one bit.
Someone gets to Magnus' house quick and remove all the sharp objects!
That won't stop me from jumping.
Two story house?
Six.
how much damage can you do falling from your mom's basement?
You underestimate the dangers of a sump pump.
Hold the panic everyone. Just remember, the coaches know more than we do, maybe they have other ideas we haven't been exposed to yet...
guys have a shot at the pros? Cox in particular. It seems to me that half of the running backs in the NFL come from places I've never heard of.
Not likely at all, but not impossible if they can get on at a camp and maybe win a practice squad part.
I guess my "cool story bro" is that I saw Khoury & Morales out bowling together last month.
The friends that bowl together, depart the program together; I'm sure I've seen that cross-stitched on a pillow somewhere.
it's your fault for not talking them into returning when you had the chance?
Also since we have extra scholarships for next year why wouldn't we give them to these guys for another year?
because the players chose to leave, its not that we didn't renew.

What would you say is your only memory of T-Rob now?
a lot of us have that memory now -- probably even people in Ohio, I dare say.
