Kelvin Grady as a slot receiver
I remember about a month or a month and a half ago, there was a lot of hubbub about Kelvin Grady potentially joining the football team (and likely playing as a slot guy). Was this ever official? Has there been any news on it since?
Just wondering. Slow summer months.
and yes he will try to do it this Fall.
If only he'll be able to split the D like he did against Duke last year...
How does a layup in basketball translate to the football field? Whatever that move is, let's hope he's practicing those.
That, I believe, would be a wide open catch. Or running into the endzone with no one in front of you (although sometimes those pesky blades of grass trip you!)
whatever the football version of being fast and juke-y and avoiding people is, he needs to keep doing that.
Oh yeah, I think that would just be being fast and juke-y and avoiding people.
Goodbye Screen and Roll, hello Bubble Screen!!!
At least he won't have to play defense!
Heheh
I'd give you 2 points for that one if I could!
If Grady is welcome to walk back on to the basketball team after the football season is over? It would be nice to get the depth help at point?
As far as football, he is so fast I think he could be a great value in space.
Also, I still think we should find a way to use older bro Kevin as a FB/power back type player
He wasn't kicked off - he quit. Why on earth would he go back?
counting Grady (and not counting Sheridan) I think that Michigan will have 65 players on scholarship for 2010. Can anyone confirm this?
I can't confirm your count, but unless I'm mistaken, Grady has NOT been promised a scholarship.
I think his scholarship automatically switches over to football (unless RR goes out of his way to pull it, which would be unlikely).
That is not how it works. Scholarships do not follow you from sport to sport. If a player switches sports, he needs to earn a scholarship for that sport.
That's true for most sports, but football has its own set of rules. Basically, every possible loophole that could allow a coach to hide scholarship players on other sports' rosters has been closed. Unless Grady is going to actually pay his own tuition, his scholarship will be assigned to football.
OK, that I agree with. But your first post said that his scholarship will automatically switch to football, which isn't the case. RR can say that Grady can be on the team, but doesn't think he's worthy of a scholarship, in which case he will have to pay his own way.
Just as long as he doesn't try to dribble
He may be a natural for Australian Rules Football!
Oh, hey. Also in the realm of players taking unusual paths to join a sibling on the football team, has there been any news on Jason Forcier?
Last I heard, which was quite a while ago, he was applying for grad school at M and looking into a waiver for eligibility to play.
That is the last I have heard as well.
However, once he gets into grad school, I heard that they are not too worried about getting the NCCA waiver. Not sure how true that is though.
One can only assume that he will not have a problem getting into grad school here if he is going to be on the football team.
I'm not sure when we will find out either.
When I first saw this thread I thought to myself "no, Kevin the drunk bruiser RB wouldn't be switched out to the slot position. The poster is a mental case", but then I realized there was an l in the name. Damn you Gradys and your extremely confusing way of naming your children!
I thought the same thing, give or take a few words
Lets hope his Dad doesn't get kicked out of the Big House for refusing to follow the rules. He's lucky they let hot dogs in or he would throw a fit.
I love people that vaguely trash people through oblique innuendo, rather than playing saying what they know. It's a blatant indication they actually know nothing - they're just passing along some third-hand, half-baked internet egossip.
Welcome to the internet.
I'm aware of the practice. I just think it's gutless and shitty.
What do you mean, The Shredder?
He was thrown out of the Greenville vs EGR basketball game when Kelvin was a senior for refusing to eat his hot dog outside the gym. The Police had to remove him from the grounds. I watched the whole fit go down, he made an ass out of himself. He has this "do you know who I am" type of attitude.
