Keeping up with former Wolverines: Aidan Falk

Submitted by Wendyk5 on

Last night, my daughter had her first lesson with her new hitting coach, Aidan Falk, Michigan Softball '14 - '18. I was instructed by my easily embarrassed 15 year old to stay away and not make a big deal. All I managed was a handshake and a "Go Blue!" Apparently, she's in the Chicago area, giving hitting lessons and studying for her LSAT's. Daughter loved her -- very helpful, so we will continue.

It is crazy how talented the top level softball players are and how there is no place for them to earn a great living post-college.  NPF is a couple year transition for most to the “real world.”  I enjoy watching high level softball more than baseball.  My me too story is when my 10 year old went to a Sierra Romero hitting clinic in Texas and one of the coaches there inquired about her.  She had just switched from right to left and started slapping.  She told us to call someone named Norelle Dickson who worked with slappers in our area.  Come to find out that she’s five minutes from our house, was an All American at Oklahoma and was a first round NPF draft pick.  Every time we are there and I watch her I just can’t believe that someone that talented doesn’t have a viable professional league to reward her incredible skill set.

He's a freshman at Denison, and getting used to the student athlete life. The newest thing is, he wants to gain weight. He's 6'2", 155 and eats like a bird. So he's going to try mass gainer. I got a call tonight and the verdict is: it's not that bad with a lot of chocolate syrup and some crushed up Kit Kats thrown in. The food there is fine, but I can't imagine gaining weight on cafeteria food alone. Thanks for asking!

well good. protein is his friend - eggs, meat, yogurt, cheese, all the stuff we are supposed to go easy on now that we're older.  one of our boys is similarly sized as yours, maybe an inch taller and only a few lbs heavier.  he's playing football.  he is like a big spider out there.
