At the beginning of today's game, the announcers mentioned something about the B1G waiving its uniform requirements for this game, for obvious reasons.

That to me indicates that they'll only be able to use them until such time as the "B1G compliant" unis are available. However, I'd imagine that any investigation into the plane wreck won't be complete before they can unpack the plane and get them to D.C.

Practice unis, "white-collar" quotes, STREET FIGHT. Whatever it takes to WIN THE GAME!

Until the investigation into the plane crash deems it okay to remove items from the plane, UM will not be wearing their regular unis (at least the ones that are on the plane).  I'd assume they'll be in practice jerseys for the remainder of the BT tourney.  NCAA tourney who knows - one would hope that new uni's could be special ordered over the course of a week so they'd be available for the NCAAs.

Might have no choice. Investigation still ongoing.

is so wonderful, they would have new uniforms in our hands before the game tomorrow. No reason to wait until the plane is unpacked. I am surprised there has been no mention by them about expiditing some new ones to the team already.

I think I'm the only one that is hoping we wear regular jerseys when we have the chance. It would really show how confident this team is and has been for the last month. This game didn't turn anything around, we've been the best team in the Big Ten for a month now. Switching back would saying "These jerseys are nothing, we're just a great basketball team"

I don't care if they wear pink tutus, I was so friggin' happy to see those kids out there playing basketball with joy today. I think we came very close to losing them all last night. I've been haunted by that thought all day. We all dodged a big one.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs in Michael Jordan's heyday and am therefore totally obsessed with him, and find the "weareJordan" hashtag stupid and offensive.  It's one thing to have the logo on our gear.  It's another thing to be advertising for him by name.

You did the right thing.  Run it by the various Athletic Directors on the blog who have a better sense of how things work.

Sneaky clever way to get upvotes too! Well done. :-)

The part of me that played baseball for years and, like many baseball players, had various rituals which I knew were nonsense but somehow helped me focus and stay sane in the right moments says.....yeah, wear the lucky jersey.

In reality, I am sure they won't because I assume spares are available and on their way from Ann Arbor, but I like the thought.

I have a feeling the team may have bonded more and feel like they're on a mission after the event. I hope that uniforms are the last thing on their mind right now.

I would certainly keep wearing them. Is there a white or blue set as well?

Nike is likely working on a replacement set for this and next weekend. It would be interesting to know what is going on right now. Does Nike/the school have enough replacements? Is the Michigan Maize color in stock, or are they special enough that they would have to be fabricated? Is the design custom for Michigan, or could Nike use a template like they have for most teams? How does the Jordan brand affect all this? Would Nike/Michigan be willing to "settle" for a generic jersey design if that's the easiest to make available to the team or will either side think that is unacceptable for a Jordan name brand? These are all my burning business questions that I will likely never get fully answered.

I don't see how it's that difficult for Nike/Jordan to get them new game unis for tomorrow. Were only talking fifteen guys. It's like like 115 like in football. But then again Adidas 2013.So you never know. Hell, MDen could get them could overnight some authentic unis and waive the shipping fee. It'd be weird to see 15 guys wearing number one and number seventeen jerseys.

This is only 3/4 sarcastic.
