Karon Higdon Bandwagon

Submitted by Blue_Goose on

First post ever and exceptionally dangerous since I’ve been consumed with life and have not been keeping up.  Call it the hangover from last years sorrowful ending.

But, with B1G media days on BTN and the Karon Higdon info coming out (and maybe knowing I won’t have to deal with MK sleeping on BM this year...jk) I’m super excited.

Karin has put on weight, increased speed and strength but maybe most impressive to me is the passion and confidence that is oozing out of him.  He was quick to jump on questions in his team interview, he has had powerful self-reflection that led to improved workouts (maybe I took a shortcut) and his overall demeanor seems eager to show to the world what transformations have occurred this off season

I think Karon’s excitement bodes well for how he is feeling about the offense’s potential and I personally am all aboard the hype train Choo Chooo!!!

anyone agree? Or dare to derail my EUTM!

I have been on that train... Love Chris Evans and Karan Higdon... So looking forward to this season, like every season, but different this season, even though I say that every year...

Disregarding the fact that you can't spell Karan's name right, I will say that with if he gets some help from his OL this season, he could be a top-3 or top-4 back in the conference. And this is a year when the conference already has plenty of good choices in Dobbins, Taylor, Scott and Bridges. Probably the deepest the conference has been at the position in quite a while.

He's got the speed and power you need at the position. He'll go as far as his OL takes him. He should be Michigan's first 1,000 yard back since Fitz.

I'm excited about Higdon, but losing Walker really downgraded my excitement about the ceiling for the running game this year.  Not that I thought Walker had been incredible in his spot minutes, but he showed a certain combination of size and speed that Michigan doesn't really have on the roster in any known commodity.  And while Higdon had couple of great games in the middle of the year, he struggled in the bowl game and picked up basically 2/3rds of his yards against Indiana, Rutgers, and Minnesota, and so I'm hoping there is a bit more consistency with his output this year.

All that said, every back needs a run blocking unit that is consistent, and after some early struggles the run blocking overall got better.  Hopefully that carries over with Warinner.

Look at Higdon's YPC last 2 years behind one of the worst OLs at Michigan.

If no one is on the Higdon bandwagon by now, im not sure what games they are watching.  Hes arguably the best running back since Thomas.

Oh my, how embarrassing. Now you know why I’ve never posted. Haha.

At least I got a lot of traffic, all publicity is good publicity they say.

My sincerest apologies KH! Just in case you might be lurking.

It's bizarre that a guy who rushed for 5.1/carry and is listed as 5-11/205 is regarded as a "meh" delicate flower who can't hold up to the punishment of carrying the ball more than few times per game.

I am exteremely excited about him as well. His vision seemed to grow exponentially with each game last year and now with the added strength and size he should give opposing teams nightmares.

I do believe he will be a NFL rb taken in the first three rounds....  reminds me of maybe, Doug Martin ?   If he had this leap like reported, then I challenge anyone here to make a better NFL comparison...maybe Tiki Barber.
