Just Met Coach Zordich

Submitted by olsont on

Just sitting in the hotel pool area here in Michigan city. Spotted coach Zordich getting a workout. I wasn't sure but after work out just introduced myself. He was very cordial. I wonder if the whole team is here cause there is one player here with him that I don't recognize

Anyways just excited for the game don't neg me too bad. All part of experience for my father and I

This is such a ridiculous take. You honestly think Pep was good based on a heavily edited amazon series made for Michigan? There were a couple of clips where it appeared he made a good call and all of a sudden he is a solid coach...nope. Even Umbig11 expected him to get fired after last year.

Look at the performance of what he is in charge of, the passing game. What was embarrassing last year? Our passing game. Jedd Fisch in the same position made Speight look like a guy who could get drafted. The Rudock passing offense under Fisch looked creative and became lethal by the end of the year. Pep in the same position made a year older Speight look like trash and he severely regressed.

Maybe Pep will learn and improve but so far he had been bad for us. Thinking he is good from the amazon series is equivalent to believing news you read on facebook.

Yeah because YOU know what constitutes good vs bad play calling.  Every play call goes through Harbaugh.  Like UMBig11 said, if you’ve got a criticism, direct it at Coach Harbaugh.  Given the shake up on the offensive staff, do you think Coach Harbaugh keeps Pep if he thought Pep was the issue?

It's not like a play clock exists for every play that makes it impossible for Harbaugh to veto and change the play every time he desires...

Do no assistant coaches have accountability for their duties if all criticism can only be directed at Harbaugh? Why did we all blame Drevno last year then?

I have seen zero reports that Harbaugh fired anyone. Drevno, Frey, and Enos were all coaches who chose to leave on their own accord because they had other jobs lined up. The "shake up' was Harbaugh having to find replacements. Please share any factual link stating Harbaugh fired any of his staff last season.

Do you think a coach has ever kept an assistant on staff for multiple years who didn't work out or wasn't good at his job? Harbaugh may or may not think Pep was an issue but after 1 year here but Pep has been undoubtedly unsuccessful to date.

Ok if you think harbaugh had no impact on play calling then you have your head in the sand. You don't see the whole picture in the Amazon series but at one point during a game I remember pep asking harbaugh what he was thinking for a play call. Even if harbaugh doesn't directly call most of the plays, he has input. If pep was calling the plays and harbaugh thought he was doing a bad job then why would pep still be here. Your argument makes no sense.

Simple.  Last season, and every season Harbaugh has been at Michigan, there has been a named OC, a PGC, and a RGC.  This year, by contrast, there is NO named OC yet the other two named coordinator positions remain.  Given that everything has always run through Harbaugh to the field, it’s pretty easy to see that Harbaugh has “taken control of the offense.”

There, that was easy.

Cmon Don...  Wolve might be overreacting...   When Pep was with the colts I thought they left a ton on table.... Not sure if was Pep or not..prob not because their OL was so bad.. but then the bad O and Speight regressing coincided with his arrival. So it is reasonable to overreact that way, whether true or not.

Overration is, pretty much by definition, never reasonable.

Speight’s regression is as due to several factors.  First and foremost, IMO, was the loss of a the key players who contributed to a huge huge percentage of the receptions the previous year (not on Pep).  Add to that the confusion on the OL (also, not on Pep).  Lastly, and something often ignored, is the fact that it seemed that because he was a upperclassman returning starter, Harbaugh had given him more responsibility and he just wasn’t comfortable with that early.  Maybe he reached his ceiling, or maybe he would have shaken off the early issues and looked great by season end.  We’ll never know.
