Jim Tressel likes Leno

I don't know if the sweater-vested one has any real opinions about NBC's recent idiocy. I don't know the opinions of you folks out there in Internetland. What I do know is this: NBC and Ohio State are not that different. Both are respected institutions. Both have long legacies to live up to, and both are corporate sponsored (oh snap!). But seriously folks. I am an Ohioan. I have many friends who root for tOSU come hell or high water, and who have been with them in good times and bad. And that's all well and good. But looking at it as objectively as I can, they're really hard to like. They have a primadonna for a quarterback, No One with any real explosion on offense. A defense full of relative no-names (who probably won't be next year, but we're talking about the present here). One First-Team All-Conference player - Kurt Coleman (that's as many as Michigan had thanks to the Space Emperor). Zero on Rivals' list (Michigan had 3). Yeah, they win. That's more than NBC can say. But the victories are so lackluster and un-fun that I actually fell asleep during three OSU games (1 other game combined over the rest of the year). I guess I just don't get it. At the moment, in terms of likability, NBC and OSU have just about as much going for them. Kurt Coleman is 30 Rock. Terrelle Pryor is Jay Leno. Justin Boren is The Biggest Loser. I think we can all see the parallels here.

I don't get your analogy. If Ohio State is NBC, are we ABC, CBS, or Fox? And what does that have to do with Jim Tressel and who he watches as he drinks his late night wine cooler?

I just re-read your entire post, and I still have no clue what you're talking about.

the late night fiasco is that NONE of these guys are funny. I know the sentiment among twenty and thirty somethings is that Letterman is the funny one, news for you, Letterman is not funny either, not even chuckle like.

As for OSU, I have to confess, I hate OSU like I hate 4:00 AM wakeups, but I don't mind watching them. I have always been a fan of "big ten style" football, and they actually still play it for the most part. They just have really bad uniforms, kind of hard on the eyes in that regard.
