Jersey Fail

Submitted by andrewG on January 18th, 2013 at 8:50 AM

Add last night to the list of complaints against Adidas. Burke, Morgan, and Stauskas all tore their jerseys during the game, to the extent that Burke and Morgan actually needed replacements. I didn't actually notice Stauskas's jersey tear, but it's mentioned in the recap. My wife did notice that Morgan's replacement jersey was torn in the final minutes, so that's at least 4 torn jerseys in one game. Ridiculous.

Has something like this ever happened before? I know it was a physical game and all, but I never even saw how the jerseys got torn. Did anyone else? Or is Adidas trying out paper jerseys?

Shit happens. Jerseys tear. No Adidas jerseys had this happen before last night.

The real fail in my opinion is not carrying a second jersey with each player's actual number on it.  Strange to carry randon extra jerseys but no actual back ups.

I thought the exact same thing.  I pictured them opening up a box of jerseys before the game and the team manager saving "Robinison....here's your #1......ok...here's your  trey......does anybody have #3 again?  No?  Ok....back in the box.....Who has #4?"

I flashed back to Middle School BBall......

FYI don't bitch about getting negged. The points don't count and I didn't neg you anyway. But your name is PedoWolverine and your tag line talks about stealing all the booooiiiizzz. Seems reasonable enough to make that assumption. Am I right Mr. Sandusky??

Btw solo dolo doesn't necessarily mean anything about smoking bud NTTAWWT. I was on my Cudi kick at the time

i know. still annoyed that a seemingly relevant post regarding a famously ripped jersey at the university of michigan would be tagged 'offtopic' in this thread. anyways, just as 'solo dolo' doesn't necessarily mean anything about smoking bud, 'pedo' isn't necessarily about being a pedofile...so it's a learning experience for both of us.

....who is making any jokes about that? You seriously need to be more open-minded. Just because my parents come from Poland, and named me something that, in English, is construed VERY differently, doesn't mean I'm making some joke about a very serious offense.

You seriously need to get in touch with reality if you think that we're all so gullible that we'll credulously swallow your horsecrap about being born of Polish parents and your name being "Pedot."

Your dumbass tagline in combination with your account name makes it abundantly clear that you think pedophilia is somehow a subject for humor.

Maybe this is asking too much, but I would hope that jersey technology has advanced somewhat in the last 30 years, when players basically wore straight-up polyester mesh.  Particularly since uniform manufacturers feature campaigns every year about how this year's jerseys are X% better/drier/faster.

to Nike. With many other schools across the country dropping Adidas right now, due to some work environment issues in their factories overseas this would be a perfect time to get out of that contract. First it was the jersey issue a few years back for football against Northwestern, and now basketball? Just please make the switch, we can go back to wearing the real "Maize" as Nike is the only outfitter to have our true color perfected as I belive they copyrighted it?

You don't see it that often. If you have 4 jerseys torn in total that means the refs were not doing there jobs. They clearly sucked last night and Minny fans believe the same thing but they were at home.
