Considering how much money they make at UF and OU respectively, there's really not much incentive to leave their current ultra-cushy college jobs.

Job security is the bigger one. What Jones would offer would probably only be $1-2M more than what they make now. But, they probably only have a shelf life of few years in the NFL, so in a lot ways its not really worth it.

How great would it be if Urban Meyer left Fl. What would they do? Living in FL these freakin FL fans drive me crazy..They think there was no football before Fl got good...I can't stand them.

I will give you some good reasons why. Neither runs a 3-4 Is one and the second is Jerry is the coach of the Cowboys and he won't hire someone who is as famous as him or smarted see Wade Phillips. dave campo and chan gailey.

that are sitting at home or on a TV channel, you would have to figure Good Ole Jerry is going to go after one of them. Dungy, Chucky, Shannahan, Cowher, Holmgrem, DITKA :-) just to name a few....

He wants a sycophant to stand on the sideline while he (Jones) calls all of the plays and decides who is on the roster. As for Meyer or Stoops going to the NFL, I can't imagine why anyone would hire either one. They are using versions of the spread, while the NFL is still married to "pro set" offenses. Then again, Jones did somehow convert Barry Switzer from an option coach to an NFL coach/JJ sycophant, so I guess anything is possible.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jerry Jones did want a college coach. Their last three championships were under Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, who had no NFL head coaching experience when Jerry hired them. I would be surprised, however, if either Meyer or Stoops took the job.

Those were Jimmy Johnson's players and I'm pretty sure Aikman called the plays on O. The Cowboys are a mess the one good coach they have had since jj was Tuna and Jones ran him off. If you look at the Cowboys roster every young star is from Tuna and ever draft jones has run on his own has been a joke.

The only way the cowboys are gonna get better, is the same way the raiders will get better... Crazy old owner with huge ego relinquishing power. But, the only way that will happen is a reaper visit. It is what it is...
