Jeremy Gallon/JT Turner

Submitted by Raback Omaba on
I don't know if this horse has been beaten to death, and I apologize if it has, but has anyone heard about whether either of these guys has qualified to play next year??? Obviously I want to see both of them on the field, but I think Turner would be the (much) bigger loss...we have slot guys galore, although Gallon could be a special talent (or just another McGuffie). Please keep me in the loop if anyone has heard about these two.

That's just an erroneous stereotype. The Chinese don't eat horse -- they eat live, raw donkey. Totally different.

You can't make that assertion without evidence. You have no evidence that Gallon would or will perform better in Rich Rod's offense than Odoms, Roundtree, T. Robinson, or J. Stokes. One glorified scrimmage doesn't count. Wait until he actually gets on campus before you start annointing a guy the "best" at a position. Next up from Logan - Taylor Lewan will likely be a better left tackle than Jake Long based on his senior all-star game performance. Discuss.

and you might be right that Gallon isn't the best slot we have, but there is evidence. The All star game (and all the practices where the coaches said he was awesome) does count. Also, everything I have read from Rivals makes him sound better at the slot than those you mention including Stokes.

Have I offended you in some way? I merely expressed my opinion on a player and you felt it necessary to attack me and make a snarky post like this. If you disagree, state your opinion and leave it at that. No need to be an ass.

Fans fall in love with recruits before they hit campus all the time, and Gallon was getting talked about a lot earlier this year. No reason to get so snarky on Logan, even if I agree with you more than him.

Just wondering jg; A. Do you and your 373 posts have a job and/or life, and of course... B. Have you ever written a post without being a total jackass? Because lord knows you are the coolest bestest fan ever, the way you write so condescendingly to everyone doesnt make it appear that you have a small penis in any way... Thanks for your time, Aug '95

JG needs one point on his ACT. Just awaiting results. He's either in or not at this point, there are no more tests he can take. JT just finished up taking the science portion of the Ohio Test. I'm not sure if there are any other testing dates if he isn't successful, but I do not think so. Hold your breathe and enjoy our Nation's birthday.

Without going too off topic I have a quick question. Was it common to have a 1 or 2 recruits a season be in danger of not qualifying when Carr was still coaching?

Well, the infamous '05 class had Marquis Slocum in it. He didn't qualify for what would've been his freshman year. He eventually left school (flunked out?). It was a bit of a struggle for some other unamed players in that '05 class to stay eligible once they enrolled. That is not uncommon for ANY program.

He was re-recruited by Rich Rod. Neither Carr nor Rodriguez is responsible if a player can't qualify. It seems as though you're trying assign blame to someone when a recruit can't qualify, which isn't fair to the coaches.

Michigan's recruiting yield has royally sucked over the last 7 seasons. I calculated that for every UM class, 4 players get knocked out forever due to transfer, injury or qualification issues. This is a problem for many schools, but Michigan has been...unlucky to say the least.
