Jason Olesnavage

How many people breathed a huge sigh of relief when Jason Olesnavage booted a 40(something)yard field goal and it was good? And not only good but right down the middle. I feel a lot better about Michigan's kicking situation than I did before the game started. Every year the kicking game is the difference in one or two games. Having a guy who can make the clutch kick during the game is a wonderful asset. I don't really consider what he did as a clutch kick in relation to the score of the game. But the individual pressure he must have felt, kicking for the first time in front of 110,000, must have been similar in scope.

I was screaming, KICK THE FIELD GOAL! I didn't care if they put Gibbons in to do it, I don't get why coaches don't take opportunities to practice kicking in games with a new kicker. Lloyd did that against Northwestern a few years ago too.

I disagree completely. We saw Olesnavage do well. I wanted to see Cone get the touchdown. The kid has done his due diligence. The game was nearly meaningless at this point. It was great to see him have a chance to put his name down for something other than clip board holder. I was cheering more for Cone at that moment than I was Michigan to score. While I may take some heat (a la RBUAS for cheering for players instead of the team), but you know what, if Cone would had scored, everyone and his mother would be ecstatic for the guy. It would just be one of those "great stories."

Check it. Here's the play, we ain't got all day, I'm-a throw it to one of you, whadda ya say? I'm a straight G, run like a tree, ev'ry defender can get their hands on me. Move like a boulder, give you the cold shoulder, gonna pass it outta bounds, got nine rounds, in my gun, ain't no pun, blue 42 is the one. Can I get a set, set, HUT!? *Snap* *Bad pass* *Turnover on downs*

If Jason had missed his field goal earlier or if he had missed any of his PAT's I would say let him try to kick it in that situation. But he looked good. So I was not upset that RR let Coner play. After all how many more times will Coner ever see the field again? Maybe Deleware St.?

I field goal was great, but the confidence and the energy that it created was even better. He was jacked he made it (no Gramatica jacked), but still excited. That just showed that the energy from the game was everywhere. I haven't seen the energy that high in awhile. Great game!

can we kick field goals when up by 20 points? Sure, alot of high school kickers can do that. Can we do it in a 3 point game in the later stages of the game? Who knows. It was nice to see it go through, but I'm still worried from over 40.

Nobody in the stands around me had ANY idea who the guy was.
I guess that includes the guy behind me who called it "a dick move" to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG. The Coner's Heisman candidacy took a hit, and he just didn't care.
