Jabrill Peppers Visits

Submitted by htm11 on

Jabrill Peppers is not going to visit Stanford. Planning return visit to Penn State the weekend of May 18th. Per Rivals (from interview with Pepper's coach)

No Stanford visit for Jabrill Peppers? Looking that way, though one to PSU is in the works. U-M is still the strong frontrunner.

prepare for some angry tweeting by David Shaw if this is true. If he can get a certain NFL head coach to slam Michigan's academic integrity again, that might change JP's mind.

or perhaps worthless. For his sake, I hope he can exercise more restraint. For our sake, I hope he says something impossibly off-putting. On another friendly note, can someone please correct the spelling of his first name to Jabrill? Just want to maximize the good karma.

Peppers: So, yo guys aren't going to a bowl anytime soon?

O'Brien: No, but the NCAA did sanction us to take the team to Colonial Williamsburg in January

Peppers: Can we stop D.C. for the cherry blossom festival?

O'Brien: No, but we will play "any given sunday" on the team bus on the way back

Peppers: Word! The one with Pachino?

O'brien: No, the one with Fr. Jeff Rose from Our Lady of Prepetual Sorrow

Peppers: Man, that's....... something, Coach

O'Brien: yeah, we've been hearing that a lot lately

I wonder if Shaw's tweet had anything to do with this? Everything I've watched and read about Jabrill would suggest that he's a no BS tell it to me straight(real recognize real) type of kid.

I was much more worried about Stanford than Penn State. Stanford really has a lot to offer, but PSU? Smaller stadium, no bowls for a while, bad for the forseeable future, and in the middle of nowhere. I would be shocked if it's more than just one last visit to prove to himself that Michigan is the choice.

  1. Top 2 of Michigan and Stanford
  2. Plans visit to Stanford beforing deciding
  3. Cancels visit to Stanford

I don't know what else that could mean

i am a bit late, but this title reads as "the visit that Jabril Peppers is currently taking." i believe it should be Jabril Peppers' Visits which would be more in-line with a post about what visits Peppers has left to take.

Damn, was just hoping for a cancellation and no other news, but if he wants to visit Penn State, that's his right to do so. Not sure what O'Brien can offer Peppers that Michigan can't. If Peppers wants to win the Heisman as a freshman, it'd be in his best interest to go to a program that won't be crippled with sanctions and enduring 6+ loss seasons for the next 3 years at least. But that's my two cents.

Don't want to count on him prematurely, but he is exactly what we need in the defensive backfield, just as Harris was exactly what we needed at WR and Green exactly what we needed at RB.  This team has solid freshmena nd sophomores throughout, and a solid incoming class, and a potentially great OL in another year or two.  But great individual players take you to the next level, and we are starting to accumulate recruits who are potentially great.  Now, let's get a Peppers pledge and then add Hand or McDowell for the DL.

I wouldn't overlook psu. Not as much a player as Stanford is/was but this is a kid that has admitted to doing the unexpected out of wanting to be different. Can't be much different than going to a school he'll never do anything more than play a regular season at....eventually surrounded by a team of half walk-on level players. I like our chances better than versus Stanford but this kid is admittedly different. Likes to be different and take the harder road, etc.

I was wondering if Peppers mentioned a PSU visit to get people off his back. Inevitably, when you're the #2 prospect in the country and you have a top 2 and seemingly eliminate one, everyone in the world is going to go "SO BRO. U GO TO MICHIGAN NOW?1".

The PSU visit may be real, but it might just be a shield or timewaster to keep him from having to comment too much on his affinity for Michigan at the moment (possibly before he's ready to make any commitments one way or another)

Did not know that and before hearing it would still give us a HUGE advantage over psu but......Peppers kind of prides himself on being different and doing the unexpected. Enough to go to a nuked psu program? I don't know. I tend to agree with Balas but Balas is not Peppers so I'm not putting him in our class until he commits.

over Michigan, LSU, Ohio State, Stanford, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma, it would be the biggest recruiting upset in a long, long time.

Word on the street and on twitter is that he didnt officially cancle his visit to Stanford all together, but is instead finding it hard to schedule the trip all the way out there with all that he has going on. he has track and all the camps and stuff like that, plus its a trip all the way across the country so its not as easy as going to PSU or even Michigan.

How can he win the Heisman as a freshman when he can't play in a bowl game and isn't on a contender? I don't think Penn State is a major threat.
