Jabrill Peppers loses state 200m record
After seemingly running a state record 20.79 in the 200m on Friday, Jabrill Peppers had his record taken away due to a timing error.
``There was a shadow/body cast across the image that made it look like the runner was further in front than he was,'' said Lou Fraulo, the head of Fraulo Race Timing, who was working at another meet on Friday.
I have no idea how a shadow messes with the timing in a race (especially to the tune of .58s), but I guess this is a thing. at least in New Jersey anyways. So instead, he's credited with a 21.37, which is short of the record of 20.93 set in 2001. So apparently, the only thing that can keep up with Jabrill Peppers is his shadow.
There goes his 5th star. Do not want.

We should totally recruit his shadow. Its faster than Jabrill and able to stick to its man like glue. Would be a fantastic corner.
Peter Pan.
That's a great thought. We SHOULD recruit Peter Pan; dude can fly! You thought the linebackers in NCAA football were bad? Try throwing over Peter Pan!
I do fear that a guy like Mr. Pan would be weak against the run though.
Weight isn't the issue. His shadow is purely a two-dimensional player and I don't see that ever changing.
but on cloudy days, he can disappear...Gallon-esque cloaking device activated!
J.P. Shadow takes away half the field (or MOAR!!) from the offense as long as its sunny. But within domes he is often nowhere to be seen. A high risk, high reward prospect.
Next time, don't use the "/s" It makes for more fun when someone doesn't see the obvious sarcasm and flips out on you.
I believe Mattison already has "Da Shadow" for another visit so we will most likely have him locked up after his next appearance. As long as it isn't at high noon.
Another example of how Hoke can't attract elite talent. Damnit!

So, a 0.58 second difference at that speed equates to about 20 feet....
How the heck do you mess that up???????
Peppers' shadow must be tacopants
That shadow set the state record in the 200m dash, and no one is giving it credit.
Yet another instance of the establishment keeping the shadow man down.
I hear his shadow is an MSU lock.
MSU is waiting in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to pounce?
and his shadow are a package deal.
/obvs s/
Mattison will tell the shadow which pro-bowler he is reminded of and go from there. If anyone can coach up a shadow it is Hoke and Co.
Heard Mattison told Hand his shadow reminds him of Terrell Suggs shadow.
Not being a douche...(which I know is how most douche comments start off)
Can someone who's been around for awhile explain if this should be OT? Peppers is a big time target but he's not a commit. It also has nothing to do with Michigan or Football.
Honest question, it's a slow period so I couldn't care less. Also, it's properly titled (in terms of information) so clearly if you click on the thread...you're interested in the topic.
Just wondering for future threads.
anything about a potential recruit who is favored to chose Michigan who is as ranked as high as this guy is not OT. i don't care if it's about what he ate for breakfast this morning. and though it is a light-hearted topic it is about speed, which is football related.
However, this post is:
- About a highly rated potential Michigan recruit, thus toward on topic;
- About his speed, which is on topic for the play of a DB
That content makes this pretty relevant, and not OT.
If the post was about:
- you;
- a generic 200m final with a shadow report;
- a recruit who Michigan is not recruiting, who has shown no interest in Michigan;
that would be irrelevant and OT.
In addition to all of that, its a followup post to the one from over the weekend about him setting a record in the 200m.
Just making sure the MGoCommunity has their facts straight. Peppers is fast, but not SHADOW FAST.
Did the video of the run look like this?
yet you have posted no comment on the thread about the Nebraska OL transfer being arrested, which is clearly OT and should have been labeled as such, but wasn't.
scratching head
Did you really research to see that I hadn't posted in that thread?
Anyway, it sucks that I was geniunely asking a question not to poke fun or be an ass, but someone (in this case you) has to respond in a sarcastic manner.
Personally, I don't feel like everything related to a potenital commit or a targeted player is on topic. In fact, I didn't agree with most of the justification...HOWEVER. The "this is a follow up to an earlier thread" justification makes perfect sense to me.
Just one mans opinion. If you don't like opinions, you're in the wrong place.
that was actually the shadow cast from jeremy gallon's cloaking device?
Due to multiple light sources, Jabrill has two perceptible shadows, one ahead of him and one behind. However, the one ahead of him is far lighter than the one behind him, and it completely disappears by the time he gets close to the finish line, while the one behind him is still very evident. Unless the explanation has to do with finish line cameras that see things differently than is evident in the video, something's goofy here.

If both shadows want to committ, do we take them both?
I expect some attrition from Hagerup's shadow, but I don't know if that will be enough.
Not enough roster spots. Taking both would be too shady.
and a total fail on the part of the officials when it came time to come up with an excuse.
I think that's the real explanation.
AMPCBHG at work.
Donald O'Connor had the same problem.
You just can't keep a record these days.
There's no shadow of a doubt that we need this kid? I hope the other teams lurking in the shadows don't nab him.... Come on, help me out here. You guys are experts at this!!
