"It's Only Dark in Your Hearts"

"They're going to be bad again next year. Lucas-Perry won't be eligible until midseason and the current recruits, while undoubtedly better than Jerrett Smith at all things, are not exactly instant impact types." http://mgoblog.com/content/its-only-dark-your-hearts I've never been so happy about Brian being so wrong.

He's been way off with regard to RR IMO , but he was dead right about Bellein. I didn't read this blog at the time so I'm not sure who was the favorite hopeful for the job, but I remember Rosenberg advocating for Bellein's hire very early in the process, before he or anyone else was even interviewed, or I was even aware of him.

When Tom Izzo indirectly turned UM and Ed Martin in to the NCAA, he created a huge competitive recruiting advantage for MSU. That his why MSU has done so well; they have had the entire state pretty much to themselves, taking the cream off the top while leaving the "projects ans suspects" to UM. Now, the playing field is about to become equal again. Harris and Sims were a great start. With Michigan's failing economy and the dearth of great prospects in the state this year, I wonder if the state can still suplly two great teams with players, but I still see UM getting their share again, especially in Detroit. UM has always been fairly strong in Detroit, and many of their best players have come from there. They really need a couple of McDonald's All Americans to get them back on track, though; that could happen as early as next year, but I am guessing it won't happen until 2011.

What, do you somehow think that if you keep repeating that Izzo turned Michigan in, it will make it true? Maurice Taylor rolled an Expedition that he could not afford without Ed Martin's money, and then Ed Martin got federally indicted for money laundering, and that was all anyone needed to bury Michigan for trouble that had nothing to do with Izzo. Stop making up crap just because you want to smear MSU.

Here, let me correct this for you: "When Tom Izzo indirectly turned UM and Ed Martin in to the NCAA, he created a huge competitive recruiting advantage for M$U. That his why M$U has done so well; they have had the entire state pretty much to themselves, taking the cream off the top while leaving the "projects ans suspects" to UM." You are welcome. Now go away, troll.

Lets see, Maurice Taylor rolled an Expedition that was bought for him by a booster carrying a recruit more than 50 miles from where he was allowed to be. This accident attracted the police and media. But that's not what revealed the program?

I remember reading that a year ago and being surprised at how pessimistic Brian was. I felt like we were more competitive last year than the record indicated. In lots of games, we'd play the other team evenly for like 30 of the 40 minutes, but then go through a horrible stretch that turned it into a 10-15 point loss. I thought that with the shooting and depth we were adding, we might have enough in reserve to overcome those brutal 10 minutes that kept killing us. But I'm no prophet either - when Udoh transferred, I downgraded my expectations a lot. I thought his loss would be devastating. How Beilein has pulled this off with two healthy scholarship players over 6'5", I have no idea.

What exactly is the point of rehashing something in the past when we just saw a very important win for Michigan? Michigan basketball is back and my suggestion is to live in the present than in the past as some of you enjoy doing.
