It's official. Brandon Graham is Rittenberg's No. 1
As if there as ever any doubt.

From the comments at the bottom of the article:
As a die-hard Michigan State fan I have to say... this was definately the right pick. This guy is simply unbelievable. He was the best player in the conference this year and he probably has the highest pro potential as well. And I agree with Adam that the fact that the rest of the defense was attrocious just makes what Graham accomplished even more impressive.Sparty yes?

A few comments after, there's an OSU fan saying the same thing. Stunning.

I am so happy I am not a die hard MSU fan. That is all.

your post provoked a quick google search. the phrase "die hard" originated in england in the 1700s and came from public hanging executions. they had not yet "invented" the drop method that breaks the neck, so people would just hang and choke. people who were sentenced to be hanged could actually pay someone to hold onto their legs so they would die quicker. a prisoner who chose not to hire someone to hold their legs was someone who had chosen to "die hard."

Wish the Lions could pick him up, good addition to the potential defensive line they could have

Graham's one of my favorite Michigan players of all time. He had rare grace and humility as a great player on a crummy D. A lot of playmakers in this situation will do a ridiculous celebration after making a big play even when the game's not going well. I never saw Graham do this once. He just kept working. He wasn't just a great player. He was a great team player in a bad situation almost unprecedented in Ann Arbor. I wish him great success at the next level.

BG will go down as my all-time favorite player. A bunch of guys before him won a lot more games, but there's something special about a guy who played through some of the worst years in Michigan history but never once felt sorry for himself, moped around, or took a play off. He will surely be missed.

I wish BG the best at the next level and hope that just a little bit of what he was about rubbed off on some of the younger guys on the defense (and the offense for that matter).

Do you guys think he will go to a 3-4 team to play OLB or be drafted to 4-3 team?
I personally just want to see him destroy people in the NFL.

He will go to the Packers at the 23rd pick as GM Ted Thompson awakens from his drunken stupor to do something of Moderate Acceptability for once. BG will be the OLB in a 3-4 that Kampman never was, and proceed to rip Jay Cutler's head off on a regular basis while bitch-making Adrian Peterson.
PleaseOhPleaseLetThisHappen.
Oh please God let this happen.
Ideally, they also pick up Warren later so I have three awesome Wolverines to root for.

Wow, I for one am just shocked! I mean, he was okay, but it's not like he was a one man terror on a terrible defense or blocked a buch of punts by himself just by being awesome. Or like he was a great positive force on a team with a ton of difficulty surrounding it.

I'll be driving EXACTLY 55 everywhere I go today in his honor. (lookout daycare parking lot!)

how I kept thinking during that OSU game on the OSU goal line score how "Brandon Graham just isn't going to let them score". And then he goes and breaks up plays single handedly on 1st & 2nd down, and literally was inches away from tipping Pryor's screen pass and ruining everything for the Buckeyes. I still have dreams sometimes of how Graham just somehow found a way to jump 2 inches higher, tip the pass, catch it and run it back 90 yds for the go-ahead score...
Just think about it. Rittenberg called him #1 out of all the other players in the Big 10, many of which were on better teams. That's a bold statement. It definitely may be true.
