Injury Bug Bites OSU

Submitted by MaizeMN on
247Sports is reporting (2) serious injuries to OSU football players. JUCO OT transfer Malcolm Pridgeon sustained a "knee" injury and is expected to miss 3 months. Also, SO DE Darius Slade ruptured an Achilles tendon, out for season. Tough break for the kids and may impact an already thin OSU OL. Let's hope for speedy recoveries and no permanent damage. GO BLUE!

...and was "expected to compete for a starting spot." So his will certainly impact the 2016 team. I don't know how much eligibility he has left, so future impact is unknown and probably contingent on severity as much as future eligibility. As far as Slade is concerned, he's a third year SO, so would have 2017 eligibility. The Achilles is a serious injury (it ended my career before lack of talent did), so rehab is the key there.

I don't think OP tried to glorify it happening to OSU but it kind of goes without saying when bad things happen to OSU... Just remember Karma is a bitch.

Read an article the other day I believe on 247 which stated they're expecting a true freshman to start at one of the guard spots. I believe it was the kid from Plymouth that we battled for but lost out on. I don't recall his name though. Their depth on the o-line is scary thin!

Best of luck to them and whatever.

I'm happy they'll be alright, that's the important thing. But if them not playing means we have a better chance of winning in November, then I'm on board. If they'll be alright and be able to live their lives without a physical impairment, then I don't care. Because I know they wouldn't care either.

I know I'll get negged big time for this, but whatever.
