Incoming Freshman - Gallon and Turner

Submitted by betserMfan on
I'm an occasional blogger here and try to read daily...and I haven't seen anything on these two lately. Does anyone know when the freshman arrive on campus, and if Gallon and Turner qualified? I think these two could contribute right away (assuming they get in). If there were other posts on this I missed...don't shoot me. Some people on this site spend too much time discussing non-football topics (like grammer and spelling...).

Freshmen Sorry, you practically asked for it. They have until August to qualify. Most sites say that we won't hear anything until then.

..that would actually correct your spelling mistakes? This has been talked about endlessly on this blog, so you're not going to get the "hair dryer" treatment from me. However, can't understand what you write = can't read your argument/can't give credit to your position. And really, this is like yelling at the police for having the "temerity" to pull someone over going 55 in a 30. You're guilty, ye doth protest too much.

I would recommend changing this from “MGoBlog” to “Webster's Blog” or something similar as I have obviously mistaken this for a football blog.... Brian - can you make that happen? Seriously - who, gives a f&*% about a typo! Good God!

...that your spelling has improved since the errors in your OP were noted. Again, no hair dryer treatment. But it seems a lot of people here take pride in having an inability to spell. It's not a virtue. I'm an editor in my day job. I give a $#%$ about typos. So does my boss.

Just to make sure - was your purpose for this thread to find out about freshmen or to take a shot at those of us who care about spelling and grammar, and thus to start another silly argument? Or both? Because there was no need in your initial post to take a shot at the people who frequent this board because of the lucidity of its posts, and who therefore try to maintain its standards. Your original post seemed to really have two seperate purposes - to ask a question and to take a shot at some of us. You then make the assertion with more force above, in response to what was a joke. Unnecessary.

Good question, and I guess my answer is both (to find out about the freshman and to take a shot at the pettiness of this site). I guess I've been reading this blog for over a year now and it's gone down hill...from being focused solely on football to now taking shots at blog's that contain typos. Big M Football fan... Not so much a fan of this blog anymore...

We don't want anyone to leave. Please, continue coming to the blog, if you are a huge M fan, there is no substitute to Brian's work. However, don't get all bent out of shape about grammar corrections. If you really don't think it's important, than ignore the people who correct you. Easy as that.

He apparently has not passed a standardized test that you have to pass in order to receive a diploma in Ohio. Sam Webb said on his show that he didn't think it was going to be a big deal, but that remains to be seen. I don't think anyone on the blog knows anything about Gallon right now.
