Ike Bell at Under Armour practice

I definitely like reading things like this. Maybe he doesn't move to LB after all: With the employment of a lot of Cover 3, this week's practice has showcased several safeties playing down in the box over slots -- and looking impressive. Black's Isaiah Bell (Youngstown, Ohio/Liberty) came into this game with a reputation for his great run-stopping skills, but he has surprised me with his ability to open his hips and turn and run with faster slots. On a few plays, Bell even mirrored a quicker Andre Debose (Sanford, Fla./Seminole) tightly out of his breaks and made plays on the ball There has also been plenty of talk about Lewan's athleticism. It seems like our recruits are doing well at both the AA and UA practices.

A hallmark of our LB's this year was an inability to turn their hips and run with the inside vertical routes. So, even if he moves to LB - yay.

I, for one, don't think Bell will move to linebacker. I think he'll be a safety. His ball skills - something our other safeties lack - are too good to waste him at linebacker.
