If he doesn’t, he’ll never play at Michigan. Patterson will start when he’s eligible and if Dylan can’t beat out Peters then there will be somebody better behind him as well.

While I'll be happy if the best man gets the job, no matter who that is... Why do the same people complain about how our on paper recruiting class/ESPN ranking is going to kill the program, but are unwilling to entertain that Shea already is in the vegas odds for Heisman candidate?

Then I hope speight grad transfers to the same school he left, or mcaffrey wins the job. I don’t see the optimism/upside in Peters that a lot do but also hope I am absolutely wrong and Peters is great but he looks like what a backup should look like on a big ten team. I know there is a lot of speight haters but I wish he never left.

I have full confidence that Harbaugh will find another transfer before spring ball. Don't panic, it's all good.

If Shea cannot play in 2018, Michigan will lose at Sparty, and at Columbus.  I believe UM will defeat ND if Peters or Speight is the QB.

If Shea can play in 2018, the only game UM loses is at Columbus, which will still be good enough for UM to win the B1G east, then UM wins the B1G championship game and makes the 4-team NC playoff.

So Shea playing this season?  Yeah...its kind of a big deal.

Doesn’t matter who starts. If the OL situation doesn’t improve, we’ll be sending some combination of Peters, McCaffery and Patterson to the hospital next year.

I honestly couldn’t care less who starts between those three. Just fucking fix the OL and the rest takes care of itself. All three of those guys are talented, but if the OL is a sieve again, what difference does it make when the DL is in their face before they can even make their first read?

MCcaffery beats out Peters and possibly Ben Shea. Player of year on scout team also has a year in Harbaughs system. Go shotgun you say, well I say he still wins out. We shall see

Scout team have to do with it. If he was better and could win us games the red shirt woulda flew off and he would have started. I don’t wanna hear about a wasted shirt. With college jobs only lasting 3-5 years typically you don’t have time to worry about wasted shirts... he will be in a dog fight.

Literally months ago people were saying Peters was the future, he has an awful bowl game, now Speight can beat him out but we don't know if he can beat McCaffery out (whom we've never seen throw a pass in college). Hmmm... Love this site man lol.

I'd love to say DM has a legit shot but seeing him on the sidelines last year he didn't look like he had the stature for it yet. Eventually he'll fill out but he wasn't ready to take the beating our OL will give him.

Peters looked terrible in the "show me" games and if Speight comes back I'll start to question what the heck is going on with this program. It'll literally be the same OL as last year minus our best OL (Cole) and a bunch of question marks.

I still have no idea why Drevno and Pep have jobs. We were one of the worst passing offenses this university has seen ind ecades last year. I don't get it

To be fair to Peters, he was actually playing fairly well against Wisconsin until he was nearly decapitated. Yeah he had that one bad fumble, but otherwise he was making some pretty darn good throws. Hit DPJ in stride on that long bomb and then hit one of the TEs (I think it was either McKeon or Gentry) near the sideline for a really good pickup near the end of the firt half.

But yeah, that Outback Bowl....woof.

He didn't "hit him in stride." DPJ had his man beat by several yards. That man recovered to tackle immediately after the catch. It was great to see a completed deep ball since we hadn't seen one in a couple months at that point, but yeah. That kind of summed up Peters for me this season. He was capable of hitting wide open dudes, but he was either unwilling or unable to try to make a great throw against tough coverage. He was better than JOK, sure. Usually, if a young guy is going to have a bright future, he shows a couple flashes of brilliance mixed in with the frustrating youth things. Peters kept the frustrating youth things to an acceptable level, but did not make a single play that made me think, "wow, this kid is gonna be good when he figures it out." That's why there is so much hope for McCaffrey right now. Peters' ceiling is much lower than we thought.

Sometimes I wish the internet would just go away. Its painful to recognize how many stupid people are out there.

Shea will be eligible. Ran into a dad of another Ole Miss player at the airport who transferred out at the same time for the same reason and his son will be playing next year at the new school he chose

Looking good for the good guys!

So for various reasons I'm absent for a couple of weeks and all hell break loose.

Maybe I'm out of date but I have this recollection of Speight telling us he's moving on. Has he changed his mind?

So because Peters didn't gell with very limited exposure and a nasty injury and then failed as the conquering hero in the bowl game he's crap on a stick? Seriously?

Whether or not Shea can play, Harbaugh will get the best available QB ready for the coming season. If the Oline get their crap together the team will be fine. .
