If I Could Turn Back Time Drinking Thread

Submitted by Broken Brilliance on February 15th, 2019 at 11:17 PM

Yes, perhaps I've watched Deadpool 2 a bit too much, but here I sit drinking vodka crans on a Friday night wishing that Zach Gentry didn't have that td pass raked out in Columbus.

The real questions remain...

(1.) What are you drinking?

(2.) What Michigan football moment would you change given time travel capabilities?

(3.) What song is playing on your Spotify compatible device of choice?

1) Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ale

2) the JT Barrett spot

3) new Vampire Weekend tunes have me digging back through their older albums. I didn’t appreciate Contra like I should have when it came out

Also trying to get a damn baby to sleep. Sleep is amazing, kid. Let’s all go to sleep.

the part that is even better for me is that little blond gal they put up in the mezzanine that sings the last half of the video - beautiful singing.  what would they call that, a melody?  not a chorus.  whatever, its like the classic version of whomever sings the old pink floyd song, 'great gig in the sky'.

1. Centennial IPA

2. Too many to just list one. Devin Gardner 2 pt conversion, JT Barret spot, The Horror, Shawn Crable hit out of bounds, the MSU punt block, Spartan Bob, PI on Desmond in 1990, Charles White's phantom TD, Lantry's 1974 kick, Lantry's 1973 kick...

3. Listening to MGoPodcast, not Spotify

1: Sip O’Sunshine

2: I would eliminate the bumble bee unis against MSU.

3: listening to “Let’s Play Two” Pearl Jam from Wrigley and trying to make my best homemade version of Pequod’s Chicago Pizza.  Turned out pretty good.

Sipping Jack Daniels Whisky

Michigan vs Colorado Sep. 24, 1994, Ty Law knocks the ball down instead of up or on 3rd and 2 in Colorado territory on our last possession Michigan offense line does not get a motion penalty.

Snoop Doggy Dog (appropriate 1994 debut hit):

Who Am I (What’s My Name?)

Side note:  Had seats in South End zone in section 8, row 70, and had the perfect spot to experience this pain.  I have never sense heard the Big House that quiet...

WHY:  win this game, and Moeller has much better season and does not go on a drunken rant.  Changes entire trajectory of Michigan football...

1) I don’t drink at home

2) preventing the Ricky Powers fumble vs Colorado in 1994 or even the opening Grbac pass vs FSU in 1991.

3) Side 2 of Lies by Guns N Roses.

1. It’s morning - drinking Kona Coffee.

2. The spot. Changes the whole narrative on Harbaugh, the rivalry and probably improves recruiting for the year or so after (which were good but certainly not great classes).

3. I’ve got Beatles playing right now on my phone so I’ll go with that for #3.

1) Last night it was Vernor's - this morning, cheap coffee from my 30 year old coffee maker.

2) Time travelers should not go back and change the past. Athletic directors vote in 1973, maybe.

3) Fastball's - The Way.  I was flipping the channels yesterday and that song came up on VH1. Since I had not heard it in a long while I sat and watched the video until the end. I always loved the song but, did not know what it was about. After searching on youtube to have another listen last night, I was blown away with how the song came to be. The genesis of the song came from news reports of a missing elderly couple. Since I am dealing with a father and a father in-law who are not quite remembering things as they used to, the song hit home in a deep way.
