Judging by what I saw on TV -- and have seen on other sites' boards (Yost Built, for one), the ND fans are somewhat...err...uncouth.

But hell...what else is there to do in North Dakota? Nothing now! HA!

His last comment was, "It is very difficult to lose a hockey game and have your season END!"

The last word was a pregnant pause and full of bitterness

Wow, that 3rd gave me more than a few heart tremors.

Hunwick was great, but the d in front of him was tremendous, absolutely outstanding.

One more! Go blue!!!

He said the best team doesn't always win. He mentioned the '97 team that everybody in hockey knew was the best team but got upset.

He said this team is the easy team to coach.

He said the line that had 16 goals between them outscored a line that had 70 goals between them.

Red was our secret weapon in this one. Only a secret thanks to Melrose jerking off to the Sioux all day today. He is UNBEARABLE to listen to, I almost had to mute it. I lost track of the number of times he went back and forth between whether M wanted to play an up-tempo flow type of game or a grind-it-out game.

Also Gary couldn't seem to look at the correct side of the score sheet during either game tonight.

Just to add something: Red has maintained that stance- the best team doesn't always win- for at least 12 years. He's said it after losses, said it after wins (in the NCAA tourney), etc. He's not only right, he's consistent. But it's Red- it isn't like you'd expect him to be anything else than completely, unwaveringly principled. And it adds force to him saying it on a night like this. What a wonderful victory!

LOL...that sioux fan is such a douche.

So about me driving to st. paul...I am not going now. My wife was at the game. Right now the street price is $100 for the championship game from Sioux fans. that price along with gas and lodging since I am going to break up the drive in two days makes the trip a little too unaffordable at the moment.

This is a good thing. Every time I attend Michigan hockey in a championship game (CCHA tournament and regionals) Michigan has lost. I am bad luck watching Michigan live in championships...my wife is good luck though. Michigan always wins when she is there without me.

Just got back from the game.... fucking ridiculous!!

Tons of NoDak fans as expected.  Hunwick was unreal, as was Merrill.  Merrill is clearly the best player on the ice.  He dominated the SIoux forwards.

Time to rustle up some championship game tickets!

GO BLUE!!!

Just got back from the game as well.  Thaaat was awesome.  Sioux fans were pretty quiet the entire game, except for on a random faceoff in the 2nd period.  I would have thought they would have been louder considering they were 90% of the crowd.

I have been watching hockey a long time, and that was one of the best overall team defensive games I have ever seen! WOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Every player was busting their ass off on defense, sacrificing their bodies to block shots, just plain unbelievable! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was never so nervous in my life, that was so damn epic, all of us students were basically in one huge jumping mob of hugs when the empty net goal went in....I cannot believe I have the chance to watch them play for a National Championship on Saturday....EPIC!

also: WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 3 DOWN 1 TO GO!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Fans were dickish, but doesn't dimish their team.  The Fighting Sioux have almost as much Hockey history as we do.  That said, time to start focusing on Saturday.  Can't think of anythign worse than 2nd place.
