Huge visit from a '13 recruit at the game today
Henry Poggi was at the game today, and that is a huge visit for Michigan. He keeps his visits really quiet, so looks like not everyone knew about it. This guys offer list is going to get huge, and it is already impressive. I think it's scary that I have friends that recognized him at the game, and can barely remember their wives birthdays. Really puts life into perspectie for you.....

That's a pretty impressive offer list.
In other news, you should probably get some better friends. They must be major assholes.

Agreed. There are two dates every man must know. The birthday of the woman he is married to/dating and your anniversary. Birthdays of kids come next.

you may want to specify "we"...

Look, man. So do lots of us. I think it's a major screw up to forget a wife's bday, but, say, if you're hammered with your buddies, away from said wives, ....aww, hell, I don't know. I'm not married or anything. But I am just saying, I think I get your principle, and I don't disagree, but nothing's that black and white. Say....he was....I don't know, drinking all day and there were strippers, a limo, the moon, a jet, Vegas, Slick Rick (assuming his passport/visa issue got worked out; not sure if it did), Charlie Murphy, a kiddie pool, a shit-ton of illegal stuff, and other crazy shit going on? I'd give a pass on forgetting the wife's bday, and I imagine getting laid would still happen.

the mistress' birthday. Ohhhhh I did that once and it really screwed shit up.

neither of you will ever have wives, otherwise your short little lecture might actually be important.

Please. If I got wound up over my husbands ability to remember my birthday I'd have divorced him years ago. He has many redeeming qualities, not so good with the calendar, big whoop.

I gave Poggi a dinner date offer. Still hasn't accepted :(

Henry is the son of Biff Poggi, head coach at Gilman.
Gilman and Biff were indirectly featured in the book "Season of Life" by Jeffrey Marx, which every human should read. Basically, Henry is likely as good of a kid as one could find, if the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

great book, and it would be great to get a top notch kid like this that is also a highly touted recruit
October 29th, 2011 at 6:51 PM ^
I had no idea that kid from 2 1/2 men could play..

He's just that good of an actor...

ty isaac was there as well

Also a big visit. Nice that our RBs could have a big game in front of him.

Saw him start as a sophomore for Gilman. Gilman is consistently good just like Good Counsel, MD. You recruit the mid-Atlantic and MD, you get talent. Ask Penn State.

My girlfriend went to Good Counsel and when I tell her how good they are now, she's always upset. And with good reason.
I went to a private school in their conference so I can't say I'm too thrilled, but still, Countess!

i think he will be a DE in college
October 29th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
I could tell right away he was a serious player. I get the feeling he models his game after RVB for some reason.
October 29th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
is it because of the "flow"?
October 29th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
This kid is from Baltimore. I wonder if he is a fan of the Ravens, and if he is I wonder how much it will help us having Mattison as our D coordinator after being with the Ravens.
October 30th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
Well, one of his brothers went to Duke, and the other is at Iowa. So I doubt the hometown connection thing is extremely important to him.
October 29th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
Kinda looks like the kid from two and a half men
October 30th, 2011 at 6:24 AM ^
Looks like the kids from Two a Days.

Jake rocks!! Can't wait to see how both the O and D lines look in a few years...
