HTTV: Brian, why haven't you taken my money yet?

Submitted by d_ronii on
I'm looking forward this years HTTV football guide. It's always well written by the mgoblog crew and is essential to me getting through the summer without Michigan football. I am just (patiently) waiting for the pay link to come up. This year, what player(s) / coaches do you think will or should be on the cover? I vote for a joint one with our Senior All-Americans : J Butt and J Lewis.

They have already started writing sections, I'm sure, but the spring game is as valuable data point as any for much of what will be written. From what I recall when I was a part of it a couple years ago, the kick starter didn't start until the May timeframe going into June or early July.

So there's that (I think it was Seth's way of putting me in a position to show that I was more interested in breaking down the Michigan offense then supporting Borges, but not sure that connected with many readers, but I appreciate the thought/effort).

Also, which MGoWriters are represented in that picture and which ones are they? Pretty sure one is wearing jorts and another is wearing baggy capris and, despite my V-neck, I think I'm coming out on top in this picture. The apparent high school junior hanging out with kids 4-5 years younger then him certainly isn't winning this argument.

That depends on how you feel about being cut out of what appears to be a group of "cool" middle schoolers buying drugs from someone's older brother.  From the photo, you seem to be pretty unhappy about it.  However, you shouldn't be too upset since drugs are bad for you and, again from the photo, there is about an 80% chance that they are spending their allowance on some basil that the older kid's mom bought at Trader Joe's.

I've become akin to judging size properly based on pictures. Angles, shoes, people next to him, the apparent age of said tree species, the recency and apparent prescribed grass blade height, etc.

By taking this into account and further enhancing the photo, and by comparing the color of the taller kids shirt (based on the lighting available in this picture), you can accurately deduce that that is in fact an older kid and not just the 8th grader that hit his growth spurt early.

I've seen this year's cover design and it's the best one we've had, IMO. Don't want to give it away before we announce the Kickstarter and all that, but I think you'll all like it quite a bit.

Harbaugh riding on a horse with an army of wolverines behind him while standing on a mountain of vanquished B1G foes and burning hilltops of SEC country in the far background.

This is the only cover I will accept. Do not let me down.

I still would like to be able to add "The Bolivia Prospectus" one year so we can keep wayward MGoDenizens informed on important matters such as the status of internal plumbing in Phase XIV of La Paz Estates, or the reason that broadband is available in the coffee shop restrooms but not in the coffee shops proper in the near downtown area.

In all seriousness though, I do look forward to this year's edition of HTTV because Harbaugh, but also because this really does seem like it will be a fun preview for an equally fun year this time around.

Most of the features are in, the preview portion isn't written yet, and I keep changing what my feature's on.

Incomplete list of features:

  • 1986 and the Guarantee.
  • Ian Boyd on Michigan's passing game
  • Sharik breaks down Brown's D.
  • Inside story of when Bo got the Texas A&M offer. Spoke to some interesting people to get more of the story than Bo shared with Mitch Albom in his biography. Bo's friend Hank (grandson of Harry) Newman, Shemy Schembechler, and might might get Gil Brandt on the record.
  • Bo's sixpenny defense (when he invented the dime)
  • The Game Michigan and Oberlin both claim they won.
  • Something by Brian
  • Exclusive Jake Butt interview
