How should we mark Jan 11th?

Submitted by Moe Greene on January 7th, 2012 at 12:44 PM

So, Coach Hoke was hired on January 11th last year, after a coaching search that was tumultuous and resulted millions of hours of lost productivity.

I ask you, MGoColleagues, how should we mark the day?

How will we celebrate year one of what John U Bacon will one day refer to as the Restoration?

I will point at everything and everyone I see, start every sentence with "well,..." and pepper my conversation liberally with the words "tremendous," "toughness," and "passion."

Wow Hoke was hired on 1-11-11. No wonder things worked out so well

January 11 from now until time immemorial shall be known as Manball Day.

BTN should do an all day re-airing of all Hoke pressers since that historic day.

I will mark the day by going out and paying too much for some sort of golden shit, not only to honor Brady Hoke, but because it's the day before my wife's birthday.

Perhaps reflect on how an eleven win season cures a lot of ills, including the angst most were feeling a year ago about the coach search (when only 5% reported wanting Hoke as coach):

and eventual hire of Brady Hoke:

I was not posting to MGoBlog a year ago, but I was definitely sceptical about the Hoke hire at the time.

(Btw, I miss the archives search option that used to be available that allowed searches by month and year.)

Tears in my eyes right now from laughing while reading some of the posts on this board when Hoke was announced as the new HC.  Holy shite, was this board f'n pessimistic that day.

because that date maximizes the number of digits that look like Hoke's pointing finger...

...and Dave Brandon didn't want to wait until 11/11/11.

I'm going to start a thread where I blast DB for capitulating to the "Michigan Man" meme by hiring somebody so obviously over his head and incapable of leading Michigan.  I'm going to lament the loss of RR and predict we wont win 6 games with Hoke as coach and wonder if the team has now doomed itself to second tier status with such a lame head coaching hire.  And I'm going to speculate that our recruiting will suck and we'll be lucky to keep half of  RR's verbal commit's and that we'll probably land no one else.

Oh wait....that was last year-sorry.   This year I'll probably wear a Brady 'Hoke = Coach of the Year" T-shirt around or something.
