How offensive do you find the BTN+ surcharge to watch the early season basketball games?

It can't just be me who jumps to 10/10 on the anger scale when I see the game is on BTN+ and BTN+ is an EXTRA fee from the EXTRA fee I pay for BTN in the first place. I am not normally someone who sweats the small stuff, but this is outright fan extortion. The beauty of the scam is that only the true diehards are even paying attention to the super early season basketball games. I would even pay for it if it let me give them like $1 for the game. But $10 for a month and $80 for an annual pass? I'm sure if you get the 1 month pass you get auto-enrolled in the next month unless you are on that shit. It makes pet rocks look like a steal of a deal...

by the extremely vague title of your opening post.

Very!

(Edit: I'm very offended by your changing the extremely vague OP title to something extremely descriptive but too lengthy.

Very!)

I’m torn. On the one hand I can’t wait to listen to the craptastic announcing by the A/V club. On the other hand now it’s like I only paid five dollars for the game. Fuck you Delaney.

This kind of crap is why I cut the cord 7 years ago. On top of all the pricing tier shenanigans, you then have to endure up to 25% of air time with commercials. Actually haven't missed commercial TV that much.

and there's not a place for this game (short of the game being played at 5 ET or 9 ET).  Thus, it's BTN+ or nothing.

I get that it feels like a money grab --- but BTN's production costs are non-zero and I can understand why BTN would try to monetize this.

And BTN+ isn't purely evil --- think about all the various non-revenue sports.  Those are rarely if ever on BTN, but BTN+ provides an outlet for the diehard fans and the student-athletes' friends and families to still be able to watch most if not all the games.

you gotta look at the total value  $10 for all the games in HD.  What a bargain.

Cheaper than going there.   What's the ticket cost for one of the games, and travel, and food?

I'm coming around to these small costs for what I want.  It's actually cheap for what you get and it's a nice service they provide.

Look at it this way, PPV movies are far cheaper than going to the movies...
