How hilarious is this old "Denard is Transfering" thread in retrospect?
While Googling for stories about Denard, I came across this old thread from last November posted on another board.
Here are a few gems...
I was talking to a guy on Saturday, at a high school football playoff game, who claims to have some pretty good inside information that Denard Robinson is leaving U of M at the end of the semester.
Haven't heard anything. But if Gardner does come, it would make sense if Denard doesn't want to switch positions.
If Robinson wants to play QB, he should definitely transfer (to division 2)
This is foreseeable. If he wants to stay DIA then he should consider a switch, or he should go to lower DIAA tschool that will allow him to play QB.
I, for one, wouldn't be too sad as it's clear that Denard's arm strength is about as potent as Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate. So long, Shoelace.

This particular thread seems surprisingly prescient:

if I recall correctly.
We have some quality quarterbacks...ah, what a pleasant feeling.

What an incredible thread. Also, if you click on page two at the bottom of the page, it goes back to the old commenting format. Ah for the good ol' days.

The College Sports section of MotownSports is about one step above MLive. Those people are lunatics. There are few decent Michigan posters but many would fit into the MGoIdiot mold. The MSU guys, OSU guys, and USC guy are about as obnoxious as it gets.

Because the November, 2009 comments about the inevitable Denard transfer didn't just come from the nether regions of the interweb-tubes.
No, we had the Grand Dorkmeister of Freepland -- Mr. Drew Sharp -- weighing in on "expediting the transfer paperwork" for Denard Robinson, for the benefit of faithful Free Press readers everywhere:

Wait, someone actually said Denard's arm strength is questionable? What? I mean, last year you could have made an argument about his accuracy and touch, but arm strength? Uh...
September 5th, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
that were the problem last year. Not the speed of the throws.

Since you're looking up old threads, can you please find some threads from this forum. I know there are some prominent community members who are on record as saying Denard would never be a QB.
Lot of us have been pushing his candidacy since Day One as a potential MIchigan QB. And it was fun as hell to see it bloom yesterday.
Here's to The Denarding of the Big 10. Good luck.

The Denarding of the Big Ten?
MS Paint beckons.
I'm on a Mac, so that's my excuse for not creating this.

That thread was funny, but up until about an hour ago thebiglead had a post about Tate Forcier transferring. Then when a couple of UM posters linked to Tom's interview with Tate's Dad, the post was changed to not transferring. So poorly-informed posts exist across all spectrums. Though I will totally admit that early last year I saw Denard more as a Percy Harvin and less of a Pat White simply because of his accuracy issues. So count me amongst the throngs with egg on his face.

I don't so much find that funny as I am relieved that it didn't happen.
