Hoke Gets "It" Reason #347

Hoke handed out what's called "Victors Manual" to his team during fall camp.
"It's just a lot of different things with traditions and leadership, educating them about the university and the great university we represent," he said.
Not the difference between winning and losing of course, but another cool tidbit about Brady Hoke and his magical ability to bring together the masses of Michigan Fandom through pointing and pooping gold.

I didn't think Godwin's Law would be invoked in this thread.

The Michigan tradition in an obsessive, cult-like way can only be a good thing for their level of hustle.

I love the "Hoke Gets It" theme, but it's interesting to contemplate how much of its appeal is due to its following a RichRod regime that seemed to deemphasize Michigan traditions… because a change was needed from the tradition-bound Carr era. If Hoke had succeeded Carr, I don't think the reaction would be anywhere near as positive. A big part of "Hoke Gets It" is that RichRod didn't (and didn't win).
We are apparently going to find out a lot more about this in the upcoming Bacon book. But I can't help feeling that while Carr didn't do much to pave the way for Rodriguez, Rodriguez (partly unwittingly) did a lot to pave the way for Hoke.
