Why a press release? Way to fucking put a cherry on top of an already shitty performance. Fuck do we need leadership badly. Honestly, is the whole stake thing that big of a fucking deal? I bet half the stupid spartys didn't even notice it, just stupid, fuck coaching searches, when is basketball season?

Other than the stupidity of the whole thing in general, what I'm actually pissed off about is Hoke once again publicly lying then coming clean. At the post game presser he was asked once about it and said he really didn't know what happened but was aware of some thing. He was then asked more directly again, and he responded that, yes, in fact, he was aware of Bolden planting the stake, but it was supposed to be a joke. Now this lame ass official public apology. That is not Michigan, fergodsakes.

I have been as hard on Hoke as anyone, but I am not going to beat him up over this.  I feel bad that his tenure appears to be coming to an end, but I do believe that he is a good man.  Most coaches wouldn't have felt the need to make this statement and it tells me a lot about his character.

The first act was stupid, the effect was zero and the apology was stupider.  Genuflecting to any State coach especially Dantonio is nauseating.

You dont win championships or rivalry with nice guys, this is the nail to the coffin showing that Hoke is soft..its a rivalry game and this kind of things should be normal..Dantonio is a little BITCH complaining about this, and honestly he does shit like this every year so he can put a chip on his players for the next year and i guarantee you they will remember this next year..fuck you MD get over it and Hoke sorry but you need to be a high school teacher not a college coach

No need to apologize about the stake or the last MSU TD.

But Dantonio crying about the stake publically makes him look petty. If he wants to use it to motivate his players privately, that's different.

Why are we apoligizing to him of all people? I'm still waiting for an apology for Gholston twisting Denard's neck, him running the score up, him taking a shot at us in his radio show after our game with App State. You don't apologize to those who don't apologize back to you.

Did Sparty apologize to Notre Dame when they planted their flag in the middle of Notre Dames field years ago? No. Don't apologize to that asshole Dantonio. Did Dantonio apologize to the Michigan stadium worker who said "Welcome to the Big House" to which Coach D replied "Get the hell out of my way" No he did not. No apologies to him or his program EVER!

How will the players react? I think this just sealed it for hoke, it appears as if the players were still playing hard for him, this may have erased that going forward

Where is the applogy to us the fans for putting shit product on the field? Where is the applogy to the players for letting them down?? I dont care about this guy anymore, I use to think he was a good man with good intentions for the university and the kids but I honestly think he is a complete moran..or has lost his mind since this was his dream job

He can say what he wants because of his on field success against Michigan, but Mark Dantonio has the worst case of short man's disease I have ever seen in a man of his height.

He's a good coach, but seems like just a miserable person. (BTW I'd take that over incompetent coach/nice guy all day long).

Sorry if this is stating the obvious.

1973...  November...  OHIO STATE comes out of the tunnel at the BIG HOUSE and tries to rip down the M GO BLUE banner...Ufer going nuts...  Michigan fans booing...and at the end of the day, Woody Hayes ISSUES NO APOLOGY, but just a quick statement about how we really don't like that team up north and I have NO PROBLEM with the actions of my players...  Fast forward to 2014...and a small lil stake is put in the ground in E. Lansing and our SOON TO BE EX-Coach decides HE NEEDS to apologize...well, here's my take on it, Brady...  JOE BOLDEN..you just became my CAPTAIN NEXT YEAR!!  GO BLUE...  and oh yea...  na na na na   na na na na..hey hey hey GOODBYE...  BRADY HOKE will go down in HISTORY as the WORST coach and leader ever in Michigan history!

And for his next trick, Dantonio will show the 2015 MSU team Hoke's balls on a platter with that wry grin.

I don't agree with Bolden's original action but at this point it's over and own it.  There is no way in hell Dantonio is not going to use it as a motivational ploy for years upon years to come as a "sign of disrespect" so just being a p***** about it only makes us look even more owned.  Not that we aren't already.

Whatever. Next Hoke will apologize to us for apologizing to Dantonio and MSU. Stop apologizing? Just get the job done Coach! Good riddance...

P.S. Dantonio is a douche and he proved it yesterday...

Kinda thought the same thing.  The apology reads like sterile PR meant to appease whining.  Well... Dantonio did whine, even in victory.  I wish Hoke hadn't apologized, but it doesn't get me worked up either.  Much more concerned with salvaging what is left of this season.

The apology was meant to appease the MSU fan base. From the banner in the sky to the meatheads with letters painted on their chests, its clear that the MSU fan base is Hoke's number 1 fan. Who doesn't want their fans to be happy?

I'm not sure what the big deal is. Bolden was simply expressing that our offense would be camping out at midfield until the game was decided. Next week drive the stake into the endzone.

So is this press release a summary of what was said between Hoke and Dantonio at center field after the game? They sure had a nice long chat with each other. It's was nauseatingly long and awkward. Say good game and get the fuck out of there, Brady.

I just don't at all understand how a tent stake could possibly be used as a symbol of teamwork and committment in a tough environment. It kinda reminds me of the whole ice pick thing from '97 and climbing everest, except that actually made sense, and isn't plastic.

Right off the bat this morn on radio - they read hokes sappy apology ...then follow it with dantonio saying he is driving a stake thru us in his press conf

Can this clapping clown do anything right?????????????
