Hire Urban Meyer...He's a coaching savant

Submitted by Bo Harbaugh on September 21st, 2019 at 4:45 PM

Yeah, yeah.  He's a scumbag, blah, blah.  So are all the other elite coaches.  Just have a male grad student follow him around with a rules and regulations binder to try to keep him in check.

To the "leaders and best crowd" - we haven't won a B1G title in 15 years.  Wake up, it's a new era, and the Harbaugh train has gone off the rails.

Meyer is slimy and arrogant enough to do this - especially if he feels OSU pushed him out, and I and I am slimy enough to welcome him with open arms.

Neg away.  Time to get a proven winner.

Then why hire him?

(Also, Pitino is available for basketball.)

Meyer is one of only a few coaches I would take over Harbaugh at this moment. The biggest issue is making a decision as a school, fan base, athletics department, and coaching staff that it is time to pay 5 stars to come to Michigan.

I'm in on paying 5 starts...

But Wisconsin and MSU has beaten Harbaugh coached teams multiple times without paying players.  Yes, to be Clemson/Bama elite we would need to pay up.

But to be uncompetitive in against PSU, Wisconsin, and looking like crap against Army?....That's just shit coaching, not UM being too clean.

As the program is now we will be between 8-10 wins almost every year. If everything goes right we could compete for the playoffs. But all we would have to do isn’t start buying a few elite talents every year, and our fortune would change. Come on people. Let’s all agree it’s time.

Lots of reasons to think he would want to coach Michigan. I believe he cares about himself most, and if he won big at Michigan he would be the best coach of all time. Imagine National titles at 3 schools. Imagine if he dominated OSU from the other side. It would be legendary.

I would take Urban in a second.  You cannot ignore how good of a coach he is, character concerns aside.

I actually think a place like Michigan is perfect for him.  He finds himself at coaching schools that take liberties with the rules.  He would get support at Michigan to do it the right way and I think he would thrive.

All your doing is making people laugh their asses off at us as a fanbase for even thinking that's a possibility... like he would ever even consider doing that.

Why does this hypothetical trash keep getting repeated?

It's not happening, nor should it. But OSU fans just eat these posts up to laugh about how some Michigan fans want this to happen. Fuck off.

#1 Harbaugh isn't going to get fired - he may quit for the NFL if the offer and team are right

if #1 happens, I'd hope that we'd see if Bob Stoops would want to come back to coaching. Not sure we'd pry away Dan Mullen or Kirby Smart. Stoops was 11-7 vs. his biggest rival and is hte only coach to win each of the four big name bowls.

It's foolish to think Harbaugh couldn't get fired... stop pretending your so certain it won't happen.   This team is falling apart.

It feels like if Harbaugh got fired today that the team would play with less pressure and they may actually be able to win some important games and the players could leave the program having some good memories.  Right now there's almost zero chance this team can beat any decent team with a pulse.

It would be smart for the AD to let him go now... but I'm sure he will get at least a few more weeks before that decision is made.

Full disclosure.. known OSU fan. With that aside, are you seriously implying a #3 Georgia led by Kirby Smart would be interested in a UM coaching vacancy? Or a #9 Florida led by Dan Mullen? Stoops might be an option.. and for the reasons stated elsewhere, Urban's love of winning preceeds anything else. For what it's worth, I thought UM would come out sharp today.. I took UM and the points. But holy hell, what a mark of your fan base when you think your program, as it sits, can poach top-ten coaches. SMDH.
