I guess put him back at TE or maybe he can coach WRs with Pep. We're going to have multiple guys at a position regardless of who we hire. You probably only want one guy at RB and DL. I like the proven coaching ability of the guys we have in Pep, Frey, Mattison etc. I do think we need more guys like Partridge who can recruit since we lost Fisch and Wheatley.

I think moving him around is a great idea. Being only a couple years out of high school, he is still learning the college game. Giving him experience at several different positions will put him in the best postion to move to a coordinator position in the future. Many of the other position coaches are over qualified for their position and can help with all of the overlap.

I'd be all for it

I kind of feel like Jay at RB coach is not a good fit. Not sure what youd do with jay though

Im sure it would help us in recruiting if we had a coach with actual RB coaching expierence. The high 4-5 star running backs would surely like to work with a coach with expierence over one without it

Not too long ago, the plan was to hire a WR coach. However, JH has said that he will hire the best coach available. I wouldn't be surprised if he came from the NFL ranks.

The one position we have not been able to reel in the top end recruits is running back. It may be by ranking only as evans was undervalued obviously. I really don't know if this is because of who is our coach is at that position. I also dont know how good of a recruiter Jay Harbaugh is. I do know he is the head coaches son and thus will never be given a pink slip. We barely missed on Harris, but if we could somehow reel in Noah Cain in the 2019 class I don't think anyone will be concerned who are running backs coach is. I also think Turner this year is going to be a good one and his ranking will only go up and he is allready in the espn 300.

is one of the least important holes to fill.

A good coach, a great recruiter, etc. etc.  That should be the priority.

I think 5* running backs will be more likely to come to michigan when we have an offensive line made up of better players, that make holes 3 & 4 stars can run though.

We've had (& still have) highly ranked running backs on this team that still haven't done shit.

It's ALL about the O-line.

Jeremy Langford was rated outside of the Top 1000 on the composite.

Leveon Bell was rated outside of the Top 1800 on the composite.

Javon Ringer was rated  a 3 star and the 13th player in Ohio.

Build and coach the OL and any running back with D1 offers can become All-Conference.

As you said, the RB position is almost entirely dependent on the OL.

Exactly, it's funny how good that line became when Emmitt got behind. Before that they were a bunch of castoffs. Not to mention he missed two games after the first Superbowl in a holdout, they lost both and couldn't run the ball.

fwiw....the 10th coach will be Jordan Kovacs. I played golf with one of his former coaches 2 weeks ago...obviously nothing more than I know a guy who knows a guy, but sounded very sure.
