is a huge get, we already have Roundtree but they played my highschool 2 years ago in the State Semi- finals and they had 9 division 1 prospects on their roster. Trottwood Madison is a great school in Ohio.

I really feel like this came out of nowhere. I mean he visited right before his announcement date. Who would have guessed that it would be because he wanted to commit?

ABSOLUTE BEAST in the middle...

Body type reminds me of Rolando McClain...

If you suggest that he move to DE, watch his film, and you will 100% want him to stay at MLB....

SO HAPPY

SO MANY HAPPIES

He might be fine at MIKE, too.  I just don't know if a kid who's supposedly 6'4" and 240 lbs. as a high school junior can stay small enough to remain at MIKE.  And besides that, he doesn't really seem to have the instincts for MIKE when it comes to stopping the run, but maybe that will come with time.  I think we got our MIKEs in 2012 (Bolden, Jenkins-Stone) for the next few years.

No seriously how the hell is Hoke pulling this off?  I'd really like to stare this horse that has been gifted to us in the mouth for a while and see what makes it tick.

I don't recall Hoke burning up the recruiting trail in San Diego.  I'm not sure I've even heard a good theory of how to attribute this success.  Thoughts?  Conjecture? Wild speculation?  I'll take it all at this point.

First: Funk, Mattison, and the rest of the uber-recruit gang that he has assembled help.

Second: It was Miami-OH and SDSU. I don't care how good you are, you're not going to "burn up the trail" there.

Finally: It seems like when Hoke was at SDSU, he got a lot of highly ranked kids to at least look at it. Maybe my memory is wrong, but I feel like they showed up on a lot of lists, at least briefly. Those highly ranked kids aren't going to CHOOSE SDSU, so just getting them to look is big.

1.)  I think when you get a couple big name players early, like Morris, it creates momentum.  Then you get a couple more good players and it all begins to snowball

2.) A big name school with a talent deficiency (opportunity to start soon).  I don't think it hurts that defensively you could see the field early and often.

3.) Mattison is a great coach, who wouldn't want to be on his defense?

4.)  Hoke seems like the real deal: the quotes from the players, how he handles himself, the product on the field!  All of these things add up to the type of team someone would want to be a part of.

5.)  This is Michigan fergodsakes, right?

I think the first two are the very important to a high school phenom...  just my opinion though.
