Hell of a season

Submitted by GoBlueBill on

I know, the season didnt end up the way we all wanted it to. But we are so  much better off now than under Hoke and Rich Rod .

We lost 3 games by a total of 5 points .

Look at the whole season , dont just look at the last part .

Dont complain and cry because we didnt win every game .

I consider this season a  success and I hope it is leading to better things .

I hope everyone enjoys the off season for Football and I'll see you all next Fall .

Idk about you but I would take Penn States season in a heartbeat over our garbage one. I've only seen Michigan beat OSU once in my adult life. And that barely counts bc Fickell. I'm tired of being runner up has beens. PSU got the hardware. Michigan didn't. Give me their season any day.

Very proud of the team and how they never stopped fighting tonight.  The lone exception is the inexplicable kickoff coverage at the end.  I am not proud of that.

Great team - a few unlucky bounces from playing for a championship.

We lost Jake Butt, Yet the team managed to take the lead 58 minutes into the Orange Bowl against a very good FSU team.

As pointed out by others, we lead in 13 games going into the last minute, yet lost 3 times.  Even the last kick return was bizarre but a good return by FSU after a missed tackle.  Strange and somewhat unlucky season, but I am impressed with Michigan's grit and tenacity.  Was not Speight's or the OL's night at all, but they rallied almost pulled it out.

Too soon. Based on expectations, no. Losses are losses and M lost a Double OT thriller on the road and dropped 3 spots. Nobody cares now about the Barrett spot. Can't finish games and that's disappointing, sports-wise.

This was a very entertaining season. I am impressed that we did what we did with what we got. This is CFB. If we had a better offensive line we are playing in the playoffs and championship.

This team was loaded and should have went 11-1 worst case and made the playoffs. I would be ok if they got pounded by Alabama in the playoffs. Losing 3 of the last 4 is inexcusable

In two years, Harbaugh has lost 4 games in the last minute of the game after having the lead.  That needs to be discussed. Pathetic effort by special teams and yet another late defensive collapse.  It's absurdly predictable at this point.

Are you kidding me? He is doing this with quarter backs he didn't recruit, no offensive line, and no running backs. Give me a break, the guy is worth his weight time 10 in gold. Remember, Speight is a 3 star qb who is playing behind a meh line against teams like FSU and OSU littered with 4/5 star talent.

Would you rather go back to Hoke where we just lost most of our games? Harbaugh (with Hoke's players) has us winning most of our games and the bulk of his losses have been close. He's still building the program up so those losses don't mean omg we suk, it means we're not quite there yet

too focused on what happens in the last minute of a game. I get it, last minute plays are exciting and stick in your mind the longest. However, a TD scored in the first ten seconds of a game is worth the same amount as one scored in the last ten; it's a 60 minute game, not a 5 minute one.

Turnovers are killers and in our losses we turned the ball over way too much. Quarterback play can't be so inconsistent but mainly the offensive line and run game has to be better. We'll be better next year and yes I'm serious. We'll have another great defense and a better quarterback. Hearst is a special player and with Gary and others returning the young defense will excel. Ends, running backs and receivers will step up as well. It'll all come down to what we get from the Online.

Fair or not, this team and these seniors will be remembered for helping restore our program, but also for the lack of that killer closing instinct that could have made them elite.

Inexcusable but this was a good year. I'll start to judge fully once Harbaugh gets his recruits in. Next year we'll probably regress a little but Hokes players will be gone and then we'll basically start fresh.

Wasn't aware Wisconsin, Penn State, and Colorado are bad teams. Chill out man. Even our losses, it's not like we were dominated. Lost by an inch (and or several bad calls) to Ohio State despite playing on the road with a banged up three star QB. We lost by one or two plays to a very good Florida State team in Florida despite having a banged up 3 star QB, and missing our best Offensive and defensive players.

It was very close to being a success but it was not. Michigan was outplayed tonight but still should have won the game. Our defense dominated in the 2nd half but the 3rd and 22 Cook popped for 70 yds and the inexplicable 70 yd kickoff return killed us. Speight was awful. The o-line was awful. The love affair with De'Veon is awful. Play calling for most of the game was too obvious. Although, it may not have mattered with our o-line and Speight. Easily could be undefeated right now but offense just wasn't good enough. It will be interesting to see the QB battle this Spring and Summer. We need o-line recruits and other guys to step up.

Just look at what happened to Francois once the UM defense settled down and starting pressuring him.  He started off hot with about 150 yds in the first quarter with most of those yards coming on the 92 yd TD and the 40 yd play where Cook smoked McCray.  After the UM defense settled in and started to pressure him he crumbled.  He finished the game 9 of 27 for 222 yds and an awful pick 6.

No OL play ... no run game. Evans did his part. QB suspect. 1st and goal on turnover and no TD. That is not a championship performance.

Seriously. A lot of posters here apparently didn't see what amounts to a summary of Michigan's late-game woes this year. They were on the 1-$@%^ing yard line, first-and-goal, and they couldn't score.

Elite teams don't have trouble with that.

Our offensive line couldn't get a push this year to save their lifetime earnings.

Disappointing loss but they (FSU) are a good team. Perspective helps. No Jabrill. No Butt. Hoke recruits. No moral victories but the future is still bright when the right players are in the rotation.

Don't get me wrong. Gutty effort all year by guys like Gedeon, Winovich, Smith but the talent level will rise and our team will too. Just couldn't overcome a talented FSU team and gave up too many big plays

Still 3 losses by 5 points? We can play with anyone and will only get better.
