The thing that amazes is Karl has been lying in the weeds for about 5 years - he will do his 2-3 posts a year to get his 90 pts over a half decade.  And THIS was the one he decided to respond too.  I want to know his decision chart, and I want to know it now.

Decision chart #1
Chance to respond to a post about a 4 hour erection = Always respond

Decision chart #2
Chance to talk about Michigan Football with other passionate fans = Proceed with caution, MGoBlog can be brutal if you don't agree other contributors or if you have a redundant thread/poor thread title.

“I’m having surgery and after that …,” Harris said on the field after the Army Bowl. “I liked competing out here. Where I’m going is not a surprise. I’m just not telling y’all.”

USA Today reported that earlier in the week his mother, Tianna Hicks, asked Army Bowl officials to switch Harris’ flight Sunday from San Antonio to Birmingham. After the game Hicks said, “His momma wants him home in Oakland.”

I feel like it's just one of those "I don't have to so I'm not going to" type things.

That quote was a close as you're going to get to "Alabama...quit asking" - but it almost feels like a game to him. He has no obligation to tell the media anything so he's not going to. The fans are probably just the casualty of him not giving into the media.

That's just my personal opinion.

Part of me thinks that maybe he isn't 100% sure. But my personal guess is he just know he doesn't have to announce it and now everyone is kind of making it out like he does so he's digging in even more.

Reminds of Marshawn just a little bit.

He really doesn't have to. People keep saying "why doesnt he just say" when he said a long time ago that he doesn't want to, the fact thats not good enough for those obsessed with him isn't his problem. Better question is why don't people respect him and wait to find out?

Feel entitled?

But in some ways I don't blame him...a ton of people are telling you that you have to do something you truly don't have to do. Some of it could just be about personal pride/stubborness. Let's be honest, if I had made my mind up not to make an announcement and now I feel like everyone is telling me I have to? Knowing me, I probably dig in too. Just because.

At this point it's probably just best to assume he's going to Bama and be pleasantly surprised if we're wrong.

I only see the "why doesn't he.." type comments when people are comparing that to his supposed personality. All we hear about is how hes a quiet kid who doesn't want a bunch of recruiting attention. He doesnt owe it to anyone to say where he is going but if it's true that he doesn't want attention AND knows where he's going then it seems he's misplaying this all. He can handle it however he wants, but if he's known for weeks that he's going to Alabama then he's done nothing but create a whole bunch of attention for nothing that he supposedly really doesn't want.

What has he done to draw attention to himself? Not talk? He's not asking himself the questions and he didnt ask for people to care so much about his intentions.  This is no different than Harbaugh and his submarine or the way he handles injury questions.

The way people are blaming the attention he's getting on him reminds me of how RCMB/11W do with Harbaugh in the offseason. Harbaugh does Harbaugh things, media obsesses over it and then they say "he's drawing attention to himself". No, he's being himself and people insist on writing about it. Not his fault.

No, I didn't say that. What I said was he gets blamed for the obsessions of others. Same way Jabrill does. People attack him for the attention he gets as if he's asking for the commentators to bring his name up every 2 secs or writers to force him into headlines.

Bottom line is you can't gossip about somebody and then say it was their fault because they made you wonder about their personal life instead of just telling you. Thats not how it works. People could have just left it alone after he said he didn't want to talk about it, they didnt. Just like we say after every Harbaugh interview gone wrong. It's funny that our fan base seems to understand this concept just fine but only when they want to.

I'm with you on that. Makes sense for the most part. I was mostly speaking from a personality standpoint though and not about when people ask him about his decision. A lot of people have said things about how low-key and quiet he is and that whole thing. And that part is just not true. But to your greater point, I agree.

No...none of us know if he's 'low key and quiet'. The media attention he gets (much like Rashan Gary last year) does not tell us anything about the type of person Harris is period. Unless you are getting first hand reports of him going out of his way to draw attention to himself then the attention says more about us than him. Besides, what does 'low key and quiet' really mean? That's open to interpretation too.

That doesn't really exist. If you don't like attention and don't want to have to deal with the media then the easiest way to lessen all of that is to just say where you are going. The I've got a secret game only feeds the beast.

Btw- I'm not knocking the kid. It's his decision and he can handle it however he wants. It just seems counter productive to his professed desires to avoid the limelight and/or drama.

Lastly, I think Lynch is a good comparison. Mercurial dude to say the least.

He hasn't publicly named a school, perhaps, because he does not have to do so.

Meanwhile, fans of schools and recruiting "experts" fall all over themselves, but he owes them/us nothing.

By now, he very well may have spoken with Saban and Harbaugh and informed each of them of his decision. They cannot publicly comment on it and THEY are the ones deserving to hear of his decision from him,

"We're I'm going is not surprise."

"USA Today reported that his mother changed his flight plans from San Antonio to Birmingham back home to Oakland...'momma wants him home.'"

That...doesn't sound like he's going to Michigan. Sorry.

From all the posts on here I was under the impression he didn't have a Twitter account?  That report says he started following Michigan players on Twitter.  Does that invalidate the entire click bait article?
